General Studies and future job recruitment for ibanking

Hello, is it true that GS students have hard time getting recruited for ibanking and other finance jobs? Ive read that GS is considered inferior to other colleges, and the GS students are in an inferior position to other columbia students. I wonder how do GS students do in getting a job(especially in ibanking) after graduating and for the summer internships? thank you

No this is untrue, GS has the career website open to them, and there are just very few gs students who are young and want to go to wall street. The one guy I knew who was like 24 and wanted to work on wall street (econ major) was treated the same as everyone else, he interviewed with us and I’m pretty sure he’s working with a bulge bracket i-banking division come summer. So that’s the gist - no official disadvantage. Employers really don’t care once you sit in front of them, they’re stuck with you for 30 minutes so they’ll do their best to test you.
