General Studies Major?

<p>I just got admitted off the wait list. I originally had Engineering as my first choice major and Business as my second choice but they put me in General Studies. Apparently, they don't have any more space in either of these two. Is going into General Studies a good idea? What is the earliest possible time that I can switch from General Studies to Engineering? If anyone else has experienced this, I'd surely like to know what they're doing.</p>

<p>Thanks for the info. How long did it take to transfer out of General Studies to Business?</p>

<p>1 year.the requirements were that I complete 30 graded hours at A&M (4 of them had to be Business Math I, Business math II, and 2 other lower level busn courses) with a 3.1 GPA or better. I took 15 hours both semesters, and earned a 3.53.</p>
