So I read about appeals processes (and of course, how they rarely work), but would writing one ever hurt your chances of admittance as a transfer student? I applied and got admitted to this internship at the UN and I could not document it initially, and I think it is significant on my application and it falls under my major at this university. I’m asking out of curiosity…
So you were denied as a transfer applicant, right? I guess at this point it can’t hurt, because they already have said no. Will it help? Depends on the school I guess. If they accept a lot of transfer students, it might help. Appeals are rarely successful, as far as I understand.
No, denied as a first-year freshman. I meant that say one wrote an appeal, it got denied, would that hurt their chances if they ever should apply as a transfer? I might consider writing one, idk, I guess I feel like risk taking ha ha. Honestly, the rejection does not HURT (I’m not super upset or anything) but I really like the school, and want to see if there is the slightest chance of redeeming myself.
Probably will not help someone denied but would help someone waitlisted. I’d guess that Admissions would have a policy and got even consider it even if an Admissions Officer wanted it.
The longer you wait to apply for transfer the more the weight of your app falls on your college info. An appeal of your denial would be HS info.
