Geographic Diversity at Wake Forest

First of all, apologies as I know this info is on CC and the WFU website somewhere, but I can’t find it. Does anyone know what percentage of WFU kids come from North Carolina and other main regions of the US (New England, Mid-Atlantic, etc) and what percentage are international? Also, where do most of the international kids come from? Thanks, Londondad

Anybody know??

Bump??

The 2015 US News and World Report stats said 23% from North Carolina and 4% international. My daughter’s roommate is from California (we live in Tennessee) and her hallmates seem to be from all over the place. A list I saw from a few years ago said the most represented states after NC were Florida, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, and California. I know she’s met some girls from China but I’d have to ask her about representation from other countries. For what it’s worth, she is a freshman and loves Wake! And we used to live in England - saw your screen name!

@londondad Glad to hear of your interest in Wake Forest. I also grew up overseas and attended WFU when international diversity was minimal and am so happy to see more and more internationals being willing to look elsewhere than the northeast and west coast for undergrad. Despite being small in number, the international students I went to school with were excellent and saw great opportunities while attending Wake. epg. 54 or pg. 51 of WFU’s view book gives top 12 US states. I can’t remember exactly where I saw this, but as I recall the incoming WFU classes are ~10% international with maybe about 50%/60% being Chinese? You could contact the international students’ office and I’m sure they could tell you. Good luck to your son/daughter.

@ckdean Thanks
