George Bush

George W. Bush is my Homeboy! :)

Because I'm sure it's only the Americans that are dumdums.

Well, I mention Americans only here because tar sands are being seen as a miracle by mainly Americans. I haven't seen too many other nations jumping for joy at this stupidity that are the tar sands.

mekrob,

The Chinese have shown a keen interest in it as well.

The Americans have the most to lose as the price of oil increases.

Yes they have an interest in it, but they aren't expecting it to be their savior like how a good bit of Americans think. They see it as a very small piece of their future oil supply that they need.

I guess I didn't really explain myself well enough.

Americans have a much BIGGER vested interest in energy than the Chinese. For them, it's maintenance of the status quo. For the Chinese, who haven't reached the status quo, the loss of energy is a much smaller move back.

There's an emotional factor here that drives Americans to be much more interested in energy. Plus, Americans, more than anyone else, are likely to be the developers of technologies that make tar sands economically sound.

I'm not saying that it's going to happen, but that's the rationale.

But you'd be surprised how many Chinese see these sorts of alternatives as "the future."

So that's an excuse to accept anything that someone on the talking box says as completely true without doing a single shred of research yourself to validate those assertions? If anything, that is a reason to research it even more than the Chinese and be even more skeptical of it.

Does anyone at all realize that George Bush LIED to his entire country? Sorry if you've brought it up I haven't really read all of the posts. But what if 9/11 was a government plot? Not that I really believe in that crap, but really. All of the 9/11 Conspiracy sites are throught the government. What if they want us to know or at least think that they are capable of such a plan and are trying to keep Americans under their rule with less and less freedom? George W. is a war-type. He wanted a reason to go invade Iraq. What the heck did Iraq do to US??? Nothing, Bush just wants their oil. Bush is a crule, lying, ignorant man. Did you know in a speech he said, "A big question are is our children getting a good education?" You can call that a mistake, I call him an idiot. And he looks like a monkey. Haha, just pointing that out for kicks.

mekrob,

A panel I just went to here on energy issues basically ended with the professor saying that the Chinese are just as interested in these sorts of potential "oil sources" as we are. It's just not exactly popular media over here.

Rational ignorance, my friend. People don't have the time to really research and know about all the potential energy sources. They just have time to know that if one comes up, that they're interested in it.

Not everyone's an engineering student in college/grad student like us. They have jobs, lives, and work. They don't have time to research the nitty gritty. Nor do they have the inclination.

I think hes a great president.

who? Bush? .

Bush a great president??
puh-leez

Bush has dyslexia. And liberals make fun of him for it by calling him an "idiot."

This article covers some of those issues. I'm still not convinced.

Please see my thread entitled 'Seeking Physics Scholars' in this section of the forum, for some mind-blowing stuff that'll rock your socks!

As for bush's 'intelligence' lack, that's easy. He's a puppet. Can't talk without being told what to say. Nothing to do with intelligence or lack thereof. Has to do with whom he answers to.

He's a puppet to whom? In what sense? Sources?

I guess our world has detioriated to such an extent that we must turn to humor to make sense out of it all.

"...He's a puppet to whom? In what sense? Sources?"

That is my opinion, based on my own observations, such as:

I heard him say on tv (in an interview, paraphrased, the best I can remember) "Mr Cheney told me, Mr. President, this is what we're going to do"

and then he caught himself and immediately started backpedaling.

(I saw this myself)

He then said "I mean, Mr. Cheney asked me what we were going to do"

but then the interviewer had already moved on to another question, but bush did not let it rest. He persisted a 2nd time to reiterate once again:

"I just want to say that Mr Cheney did NOT tell me what we were going to do - I told HIM!"

It was just so obvious that he stuck his foot in his mouth...

That is anecdotal of course. I do not claim it as irrefutable proof.

There are so many other things...the gadget wired to his back during the 2nd debate with Kerry...how he fumbled his words during the 1st debate but seemed to be listening, then reciting during the 2nd...

again, not proven, but I witnessed it and arrived at this conclusion before ever reading any of the rumors on the internet.

Then, of course, there's the intelligence (or lack thereof). This is the biggest evidence. He obviously cannot speak in anything other than pre-rehearsed soundbites.

Undoubtedly the bush-supporters on this forum will now accuse me of being a bush-hater.

No, I don't hate him. I actually pity him. I think the poor guy's in way over his head. But he is definitely not fit to be president, and I think it's naive to think he is actually running things.

Bottom line is: It takes an intelligent, strong person to be the president of any large corporation, and even more so the president of a country. bush got to office thru fraud, pure and simple. He never would have graduated from Yale, much less gotten to be president, if it weren't for his daddy and Diebold.

I think the massive amount of corruption in this administration is going to be exposed. I hope it's soon.

I hope I gain 20 lbs before this year is over.

The "gadget on his back" was nothing but his suit puckering.
