George Mason Regular Decision Letters

in that case they will probably wait around 2-3 weeks before making your decision. If you want, you can also call them and ask how they will make a decision if scores take that long to come in. Did u send your SAT or ACT score?

FYI - The admissions letter is very basic and says welcome, comments about why GMU is rated a good value, etc. In fact, the big white envelope only had the letter and an admission checklist in a folder. Nothing else. Not sure what I expected though. It did not reference the Spring admitted student thing and appears it is not required, but optional for those wanting more information about GMU.

@V731996 Tried the links, so far nothing. It seems there’s a small % chance of getting in from the Waitlist, do I still have a chance since it says until June you can get notified?

@bboop42: yes the spring preview thing is definitely optional, you don’t have to go. But for those interested in learning more about gmu and are definitely committed, they are all encouraged to attend I guess.

@kingfirejet: I would try to have the best grades possible for 3rd and 4th quarter of your senior year and send that to them to show how you have improved. Also, maybe write them a letter saying how you want to attend GMU? Btw, did Gmu ask you to send them your midyear grades before making your decision?
I know a couple of my friends applied to GMU only as a safety school so they won’t end up going to Mason at all…so there will be at least a few spots open! Good Luck!!

@V731996 Thanks for the reply, do you send letters to the admissions email?

Ya i think u can email them or just mail to them via post…

@kingfirejet: did mason ask for you to send them your midyear report and base your decision off of that?

@kingfirejet Yeah they asked me to send my Mid Year Grades so I couldn’t do Early Action, even though I sent my application in November. Due to the snow days during midterms however, pushed the 1st semester end to a weird date nonetheless I got them in.

@kingfirejet: were notified of your decision by mail via post or by email?

did mason contact any of you guys to send your midyear grades? They told me that I can send them in if I want too, I thought they would ask everyone…weird.

VT31996 - guess I thought you were waiting to see if the admission letter said anything about the Spring Preview. Based on above post, appears you already know it is not required. What I was suggesting is to go ahead and sign up for it. If it lets you do that, wouldn’t that be somewhat a guarantee that you are in and the letter is just delayed? I imagine you can always cancel going later. Just a thought.

@booboo96: yes I typed in my email address and stuff and it takes me to the next page to officially confirm that I am attending the event. It asks for my phone number and how many guests will be coming with me! I think it is pretty that the letter is just delayed. But they said the next big batch comes in mid-March…so I am probably in that batch! Thanks for your input!

Good Luck. I am sure all is good.

No idea what’s going to happen with mine… Notified the admissions about my recent ACT scores but haven’t heard back from them yet

@Gmuhelp: did u call mason? u would get a quicker response from them that way

Yes i called them twice. They said they would accept my 2nd ACT score, but then each time i called they gave me the wrong person to email it to. Will call them again tomorrow to actually get the correct person to email.

lol, if I were you I would just email one of the deans or ask to speak to one of them.
Or you can also call them to ask to speak with your corunselor that is in their office.
this link has all the emails of all the office ppl.

btw, I also had a small issue in my app and they told me to email one of the admissions representatives. Don’t know if that is the right persion… @-)

The registration for the freshman orientation that is REQUIRED for all enrolled freshman begins March 18th online. So wouldn’t they need to notify all RD applicants before that date? any thoughts on this would be appreciated guys!

This is the same with other schools. It opens in March so that the people admitted during ED or EA can begin to plan / sign-up. So, no they do not need to notfify by that date since it is an “opens” not “closes” date.
