George Washington RD 2020

@gracein19 You are correct. I’ve confirmed that these cards went out to a select few, which is awesome. I’ve also confirmed that not receiving a card does not, in any way, mean you have not been accepted. Our college counselor spoke with admissions and they are still processing applications.

Thanks so much guys!! @gracein19 @HappyFace2018

Got my likely letter today in Massachusettes

Does anyone know how soon after likely letters are sent out that all of admissions decisions are released?

Received likely letter today in Wisconsin!!!

Weird, it seems like likely letters are getting to people from the same state at different times. Definitely weird how people in California received one before people in Wisconsin!

@duggalb @AdotHAM

I’m in MA and I just received a LL today. Honestly shocked because my stats aren’t that impressive though I am proud of my ECs (lots of leadership, service, Girl Scout, figure skating, and drama). 2190 superscored (710 M 690 CR 790 W) 4.34 weighted GPA (all honors/AP courses). Subject tests: 710 Math II and 720 literature

I didn’t apply to Honors because I applied to the Women Leadership Program thing instead (you can’t do both)

Hopefully we all get a lot of merit aid!

Also if you did not receive a letter do not worry. Likely letters are never sent to all who are accepted (I’m sure plenty of accepted students won’t receive them).

Are likely letters mailed, emailed, or accessed through the portal?

@elc2435 Snail mail. It’s actually a really tiny postcard. I almost threw it away.

My son received his likely letter yesterday in Michigan. It is small and at first look appears as just an admissions postcard.

Agreed. It could easily be overlooked as junk mail or mixed in with junk mail.

Got mine in socal today!! Many californians got it yesterday but mine came in today  dont lose hope!

@gonewiththeair - Relax with a 44% Acc rate you should be ok. IMO, the letters are sent to those that THEY think have a better chance of accepting their acceptance i.e. matriculate. It cuts both ways. Good luck.

@gonewiththeair - It reads: “We just couldn’t wait to tell you! We read your application and you impressed us. Based on what we learned, you are very likely to receive good news from GW later this month… bla bla bla… sit back, relax and wait for the big blue envelope in your mailbox in a few weeks.”

*** So if you want to go to GW and visit is on your dime?

@yalebound2020 You’ve been accepted to Yale and UC Berkeley right?

Interesting. Unfortunately, I was hoping for some merit money from GW- otherwise I do not think I will be able to attend. It will be interesting to see if only those who get likely letters get merit.

@gonewiththeair - there is a thread somewhere that talks about GW financial issues about 2 years ago but it is not the case today. If you really want GW, stay focused and positive. You will get in. Like I said, the matriculation rate is not very high and they need the students.

@yalebound2020 alright.Thank you for reassuring me xx

Do people who don’t get LL still get merit money usually

I got my LL yesterday and I live in Austin Texas!
