@ellomeno A day after they received it.

Has anybody NOT received their Financial aid package yet? This is getting annoying…

Hello guys!
Well Im assuming that some of you are current colonials! so I was wondering: I got accepted in to the Elliot School but Im missing like 20k per year to go so Im looking at the option of staying in FL (at FIU) to finish my bachelors so I dont get in debt.
How is the school? Classes? professors? Is it worth it or should I stay out of debt and transfer later? Help! Please!

i’d save the $ on undergrad, do as well as possible, then apply to elliott for your masters.

@ellomeno-I know you mentioned that you mailed your letter of intent a couple of weeks ago. I mailed mine on June 17th, but I still haven’t received a NetID. I was wondering if you had already, since I think we mailed our letters of intent around roughly the same time.

Also, did you write you appeal letter for your financial aid? I was planning on writing mine this week…

@csilverm Yes on thursday afternoon on the GW activity page it noted that GW had received it but I was not able to register til friday and you don’t receive the NetID you create it go to these links to create your email/netid account –http://gwired.gwu.edu/freshmen/getconnected/

and I wrote the appeal two weeks ago and they said it takes up to 3-4 weeks to process

I am working on an appeal letter for financial aid. We’ll see what happens form then. Any of you guys had a similar situation? with the money and stuff?
Also did you check what credits transfered? all of mine did (minus math :() but I noticed the class ref number is not the same as it appears at the bulletin for the IR mayor so Im worried i’ll have to start from scratch…

join the transfer thread it’s a bit dead

Hey guys! Did you get your housing assignments??

yep!

Got into Hensley Hall on Mount Vernon. Going to keep looking for off campus housing though because MV isn’t ideal as all my classes are in FG but I’m happy to have a backup plan.

I heard that they’re still a lot of people on GW transfer waitlist

@CGCGCG26-Awesome! Yeah hopefully you can find something a little bit closer to the Foggy Bottom campus, but at least you have something lined up just in case! I got into Ivory Tower, which I think is downtown.

@CSilverm how did you get Ivory Tower??? Are you a junior transfer?

@csilverm how did you pull ivory tower? that is so lucky

Yep I’m a junior transfer. I have no idea how I got into Ivory Tower! I guess it’s just the luck of the draw. The downfall of Ivory Tower though is that it is superrr expensive.

@CSilverm do you want to switch for a Quad in West Hall? it’s cheaper lol.

lol @csilverm i’ll switch with you lol what where your preference on the survey? and when did you hear back…

oh wow I’d kill to get into Ivory Tower haha

Actually, I am starting to like the idea of Hensley hall, not because of its location on Mount Vernon (I’d do anything to be on FG), but it looks like most being placed on MV are being roomed with fellow transfers so that will make things, from a social life perspective at least, a little easier.

…at least that’s how I’m trying to justify living on MV :D

That said, can I interest you in a Hensley double, CSilver? ;)

i havent gotten my roming assignment yet i hope it’s anywhere on FB MV is just freshman and transfers… and dead out there i could never justify MV it’s not even fair

I didn’t realize transfer students were being housed primarily at MV. I keep thinking that maybe GW made a mistake when assigning me Ivory Tower!

@CGCGCG26-You’re definitely right about that. I think it’ll be a lot easier to get to know people who are in the same situation as you’re in. That’s another drawback to Ivory Tower. With that being said, though, I do feel pretty lucky to be living on the FB campus.

@ellemeno-On my application I wasn’t able to make any building/room preferences. The only survey I had to fill-out was the roommate matching portion. I was sent an email (to my GWMail e-mail address) on July 11 notifying me of my housing assignment.
