George Washington University - Honors Program

Anyone know how competitive/hard this is? I've researched it quite a bit and really fell in love it with it basicaly but I'd like to know my likelihood of getting in (since they say only about 125 go in each year) w/ a 2190 SAT I (Took very early last year - retaking in March, prob getting 2300 because I didn't really study for it when I took it this time, but preparing for it should raise it a good 100-200 points) and around 3.8-3.9 GPA (by time for college admissions) w/ a Top 8-11% rank.

Any former applicants/honors scholars have any light to shed on this?

Thanks!

Also does anyone have any idea about Northeastern Honors College and the University of Pittsburgh Honors College?

GW appears to me - repeat, my opinion only - to stress gpa and class rank over standardized tests. 65% of the class was in the top 10% of their HS class and 92% in the top 25%. So you'll be much better off for being accepted into the honors program if you're closer to the top 8% of your class than if you're at the 11th percentile. How they judge your gpa itself can be affected by the type/rigor of your school.

^ Well, my school is very rigorous and I've obviously taken the hardest courseload possible (Besides these honors colleges im also looking at HYP and such) but my school practices unweighted class rank, and as such, my counseler notified me that if it was weighted I'd prob be in the top 2% of my class....lameeeeee

bumpppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Admission into the honors program is based heavily on the essay. Your numbers are fine. Get a 2250 and you're solid.

Alright - I prob will get 2250+ superscore since I took the SAT I without any preperation very early in my junior year...thanks for the info!
