Georgetown App

Two questions:
1.) If I want to major in History, is that the foreign service school or the college?
2.) When they ask for religion on part I, is it better to say i'm Jewish or no prefererence? (both are true). Also, will this affect admission in anyway? Would they rather me be Catholic (which I'm sure many people at GU are)? How would being jewish affect my chances?

Thanks.

1)International History => School of Foreign Service
History => The College

2) Doesn't matter. Though a large number of students at Georgetown are Catholic, it's not a prerequisite.

I'm in the same boat with the religion thing. Putting down Jewish is definitely not going to hurt you. It might actually help if they're trying to diversify.

I was accepted last year into the College (I ended up going to U of Michigan), and I am also Jewish. I talked in my essay about how attendinga Catholic school as a Jewish individual would allow me to expand my view of the world.

They certainly don't discriminate against religion, and being Jewish will neither help nor hinder you. Good luck!
