Is there a way to check an admissions application status on-line?

Unfortunately, no

I called and ask to see if they had my application just to double check

Are we still thinking April 1st? I haven’t heard much speculation…maybe RD applicants are way more chill than the anxious EA ones!

I think in past years they’ve arrived on like March 28, at least to areas near DC. I really hope that’s the case this year.

It took two days to get to NY in December. /randominfo

and I am definitely just as anxious as EA hah

A few questions–do you know the actual projected date of decision notification? Also, will the decision be online? We are in China and mail can take 4-6 weeks (if we even get it…)

Will merit awards be sent at the same time?

Very anxious in shanghai!

^^^ no one knows. sometime around late march earlier april. also GT doesn’t give merit aid only FA.

I think people have said internationals get decisions by email.

so no official word on when we’ll hear decisions?

Yeah, I got an email for EA (international applicant).
I think it will probably be around/on ivy day but I’m just speculating…

Patiently waiting for the mail these next few days…

I’m so excited, guys! I got my first via-mail acceptance (W&M) on Friday and it’s pretty fun to have that physical letter in your hands. Hopefully G’town comes through soon. I hate all the speculation, though, I wish they’d just tell us when they’re sending stuff out. I’m all the way out in CA, too…

I am just so anxious for these next weeks ugh

Just read on the Hoya that they only admitted 13% or 880 people EA as they wanted to leave space in regular decision. And they only expect about half of those to matriculate. I’d say That it’s pretty good stats for us.

From The Hoya: With a 13 percent admission rate, Georgetown accepted the lowest-ever number of early action applicants for the Class of 2017, in a year with a record number of students applying early.
Of the 6,850 candidates who applied to the early action pool, 880 were accepted, marking a dip of about 2 percent from last year, when 1,012 students out of 6,699, or about 15 percent, were admitted.
Across the four schools, the College had the lowest acceptance rate with only 12 percent, or 436 hopefuls, admitted, while the Walsh School of Foreign Service had the highest acceptance rate, at 16 percent or 218 students.
McDonough School of Business and the School of Nursing and Health Studies both had rates of 13% with 154 and 72 students accepted, respectively.

More from The Hoya:

Median SAT scores were 700 to 770 each for the critical reading and math components.

Deacon added that the early admission numbers would not affect the combined statistics for early action and regular decision.
“We still expect the admit rate percent overall to be 17 percent when all is said and done,” Deacon said.

Does g’town announce via snail mail or electronically?

Mail only.
