Georgetown Class of 2017 EA/RD Discussion Thread

For most of the U.S., it looks like Monday is “the day”.

See the USPS service map at
https://ribbs.usps.gov/modernservicestandards/ssmaps/find_map.cfm

From the drop-down, choose “200 Washington DC” and click “Display Map”.

Hopefully the mail is on time so everyone receives their decisions by April 1.

Good luck to all!

@eniloracw My son, surprisingly, got into Penn, too. Just like you, he is waiting for his last acceptance–Georgetown! We are afraid this will be his first and only rejection. Best of luck. Sure hope the mail comes today!

Gbaby91, you are so wrong… I’m curious to see what “calculations” (LOL) you did

Ok I was off on minorities. I don’t know how I calculated that. It might be for both ea/rd

I was accepted EA… If over 30% of the accepted were black, then the representation at the EA weekend was extremely off…

letter came today - waitlisted :-(

where are you from mom22girls?
and if you dont mind, post here please

Long Island

In terms of the minorities comment, accurate calculations or not, I kinda am one so yeah…

Just got mail in New York Didn’t get in…
Got great other options though 34 ACT 3.6 gpa unw

Rejected… This one is pretty surprising.

URM/Legacy/34 ACT/15 AP’s

Still have Vandy and Amherst though

Amherst is beautiful, I regret not applying :/

Could you post your acceptance letter? Thanks

Still haven’t gotten the letter and I live in DE this is so annoying

My S was accepted with a 2200, and 3.75. He had a 4.2 for senior year. He is greatly relieved as he was denied at Brown, Upenn and Cornell and accepted at Dartmouth. I am thrilled as G’Town is a great school and the “Ivy” thing is overblown. My second son will attend Binghamton and is equally thrilled. All-in-all, I am a happy dad.

Etg, I actually haven’t visited Amherst but I’ve heard nice things :)

is the acceptance letter a big envelope or skinny normal size?

My son is a Georgetown freshman. I am visiting for the weekend and went to dinner last night with 5 freshmen. Of the 5, 2 got in EA, 1 got in Regular, and the other 2 got in from the wait list. Good luck!

@lauwai: It’s normal sized.

So nervous. Why is it becoming so incredibly difficult to get into such great schools? :frowning: That’s rhetorical haha
