Georgetown Class of 2017 EA/RD Discussion Thread

Submitting tomorrow…

Hey guys! I am from Arkansas and sent my application last week! Finally had my interview today, and the guy was awesome! So excited to see the letter coming Dec. 15th! I hope it comes sooner; I am dying over here. Despite the fact we haven’t gotten their decisions yet, I am almost positive I am going to be accepted EA! GO HOYAS!

I submitted it and the confirmation email said I put the wrong ZIP Code jagkdfcsghvcfgxdahls

So I replied with the correct one. I hope they change it.

Wait I have a question! I chose to send my ACT scores in over the SAT scores so do I still have to send in SAT scores if I sent in my best ACT test?

Even if you sent in ACT scores, Georgetown requires 3 SAT Subject Tests. With that, you’ll have to send your SAT reasoning test scores as well, since Georgetown does not participate in score choice.

@katiematney, what makes you so confident? I’m just curious.

i know about the Subject tests and i sent those in but I don’t think I sent my SAT reasoning scores in

Last week I phoned the Admissions office to clarify this question. You can take either the SAT or ACT, or you can take both. But whatever tests you take, Georgetown requires the scores. If you took the Subject tests and you also took the SAT, you must send all test scores to Georgetown. If you didn’t take the SAT, you can just send the subject scores. Basically, GU wants ALL the scores for ALL the tests you have taken.

@katiematney, I am from Arkansas as well and applied to the sfs. Can’t wait for Dec. 15 and good luck to all of the other applicants as well.

EA to SFS… as well :P

For IPOL.

Even more specific, my concentration would be the Foreign Policy one.

@Csihsis, my intended major is Culture and Politics.

It seems like EVERYONE is applying to SFS. Good thing I’m applying to NHS :)

It just feels right. I am a big intuition person, and it just seems perfect. My interview went well, I already have a scholarship, I have accomplished many amazing feats, and I’m just amazing. Overconfident? Maybe. But, at least I believe in myself.

@Neat1837 Really??? Where are you from in Arkansas? I am from Little Rock. Also, I applied to the college, but I’m planning on studying international relations. I applied to the college because I am not sure exactly which direction I am going to take, but right now I plan to study IR and Foreign Language.

@katiematney, I go to Pulaski Academy with fellow cc poster Vitalik1.

Awesome! I used to go to PA! AND I know Vitalik!!! That’s crazy! lol I go to LISA now

How do you plan to study IR in the College.

You can study international affairs within the college, you don’t have to be just in the SFS.

Anyway, doesn’t SFS have a better acceptance rate?

37 days until Dec. 15th FYI
