Using the timeline @2016senior2020 provided from last year, it’s possible letters were mailed yesterday. If they weren’t, they will likely be mailed on Monday.
Last year, how did they find out letters were mailed? Would we have heard that officially at this point?
@2016senior2020 did you get any notification (email?) that the letters were mailed? Or is your 12/11 date based on the date on the letter you received? Your information was helpful. Thank you!
Last year Georgetown made the announcement that they mailed the letters on 12/11 on their Twitter page.
Georgetown University Admissions posts on their Facebook page when the letters go out. Last year they posted on 12/11 that they sent the letters out that day. I’ve been stalking their page like a crazy woman, but so far no post yet for this year’s letters.
@paveyourpath 12/11 was the date on the letter, and they also tweeted/posted on Facebook when they sent letters out last year.
@katekats24 In my opinion, HS major is better because of the Human Bio class. Human bio is quite difficult, but it gives you an idea if you can handle med school classes, and if you can memorize all the content in that class, you’ll leave the class knowing so much more about the human body, and you’ll know if you really want to do medicine. Pre-med is a major grind
@MemphisTN Ok thank you! Also, did you take the recommended 3 subject tests? I have only taken math II and biology and I’m kind of running out of time if I have to take a third one. Is it necessary?
@KateHBag I know a few people who got in without three subject tests, but they usually had major hooks (i.e. from small states, legacy, URM, etc.). If you don’t have some other hook, I’d take another, even if it’s just so that it’s included in your RD file.
What are considered hooks that would replace subject tests? Just wondering
I thought for EA subject tests weren’t as big of a deal. They say that on the website.
They’re talking about RD
Is it either accept or deferred?
if there was no indication that letters were sent out on friday, can we assume that they will be sent out on monday and received tuesday/wednesday/thursday? or would they have sent them out friday and not told us?
Was out tonight with someone from Georgetown. For what its worth he stated he heard letters were being mailed on the 13th. Who knows? We will know soon
I think last year they announced on twitter when they sent out letters so I think they’ll do the same last year! @livingonaprayer
yeah i was hoping that they had sent them friday and just not said anything can’t wait to get that letter!! i am so nervous @gongju
Yes
@2016senior2020 ok thanks! Would they still accept the january sat subject sitting even though it’s Jan. 21st?
@KateHBag My daughter called Admissions and they said they would accept the January 21st test, just make sure you have it sent automatically to Georgetown and don’t wait for your results to send (you have to send all scores anyway). They will get it faster this way. Just for peace of mind, I would call them yourself just to confirm this, but you should be all set. Good luck!
