Last years early acceptance rate was 13%
OK, thanks. I am assuming you mean EA?
What did I say about useless clutter posts?
This thread is INFORMATIONAL.
Let people post what they want. It’s supposed to be a discussion where people ask questions and provide updates.
I fail to see how “I did not get the letter today” contributed to the discussion.
Obviously you did not get a letter; if you did you would be posting results!
GU admissions just tweeted that decisions were mailed earlier today. Hopefully people closer to DC will receive them starting tomorrow? So nervous!
Who died and made you king? It is reassuring and informational to know no one is getting letter yet.
Yes, if you get your letters tomorrow please let us know and what state you live in. That would be very helpful! Good luck everyone!
@SonOfAbraham Look, I haven’t been contributing much to the conversation, but really, there’s no need to get this worked up about this thread. In your first post you said that applicants can discuss the application AND Georgetown, and doesn’t this “useless clutter” fit what you said?
Regardless, who gave you the authority to dictate who can say what in this thread? You’re not a moderator, so… Besides, isn’t your complaining about these posts useless clutter too? They’re neither informational about Georgetown nor the application, so aren’t you breaking your own “rules”?
I know I’m not king, and I’m not forcing anyone to post certain things, I am merely pleading for posters to not let their nervousness turn this thread into… “unthreaded twine”, so to speak. People are asking questions that have already been answered, or that can only be answered by a Georgetown admissions officer, which none of us are.
I had intended for this to be a thread where actual applicants could come home from school and find useful information, without having to scroll through pages of “Has anyone checked the mail?” and so forth.
But, like I said, I can’t decide what people post, and if the community wants this thread to be a stress-reliever, then so be it, and let this kangaroo court be over.
How long does it normally take for people to start receiving letters? Last year they were mailed on Friday the 11th and received on Monday the 14th but I think that’s only 2 business days…is it safe to assume Thursday at the latest, possibly tomorrow in NY? Or is that just wishful thinking?
@SonOfAbraham Take a large dose of a chill pill
Probably tomorrow for those very close, and Thursday and Friday for everyone else.
you can check how long a letter would take to get to you using the USPS website – for example, it would take approx. two days to get to me, give or take (i live in the bay area)
I live here in NC. Hope I get a letter on Thursday.
@livingonaprayer what do you click on to find approximate shipping time on their website? I can’t seem to find it.
I would think it depends also on what time of day Georgetown mailed the letters. They tweeted around 5, so had they just mailed them then or did they mail them earlier that day?? Either way I bet we all start hearing tomorrow, then Thursday and hopefully no later than Friday. We are in NJ and I’m assuming Thursday, but I will be checking the boards to see if anyone gets them tomorrow in the NJ/NY area, because I do think it’s possible.
@1zogden1 usps. com/ priority-mail/ map and remove spaces. georgetown’s zipcode is 20057
Omg mine is coming tomorrow… (based on the map)
Please wish me luck guys… I hope we all reach our hopes and dreams in one way or another.
Thanks for the usps info. Looks like 2 days for NJ! But we will still check tomorrow and if we get it, we will post. Our mail comes really late, so maybe we will get it tomorrow. Sometimes after 7 P.M.
