@paveyourpath Thanks for clearing this up!
My pleasure. Please just be sure to verify on the websites as there can sometimes be misinformation and sometimes even the information on the website is a little confusing and you should send an email. You don’t want to put time and effort into an app and find out later that the school deemed it incomplete based on a misunderstanding of what was required. Good luck!!
Can someone chance me/give me advice?

@paveyourpath I’m getting my information from a phone conversation that I had with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. They said that, even if you’re applying EA, having the three subject tests is recommended simply because it gives the admissions officers a better picture of who you are.
Think of it this way. They’re not going to toss your application without reading it if you don’t have subject tests. However, if you’re being compared to someone with similar stats and essays to you, and they have subject test scores and you don’t, it will appear to the admissions officers that they have a better picture of the other person than you. I never said that you need them in order to be accepted EA; that’s obviously false, as many people in this thread and previous threads have been accepted EA (even RD) without all three subject tests. It can only help, though, unless you do really badly.
^^^ “I never said that you need them in order to be accepted EA”: I understand that you didn’t say you need to have them to be accepted. Actually, I thought you were saying the opposite when you said “You don’t even have to take 3 subject tests to be accepted RD.” My point was only that I didn’t see anywhere that it said they “recommend” 3 subject tests as I understood the AO to say they require 3 subj tests. They are willing to make an allowance if you are applying EA and have not yet sat for the 3 subj matter tests or the results are not yet available but they also note, as I posted from their website, you should still plan to take the 3 subj tests in case you are deferred to RD.
take the subject tests if you can, if you can’t don’t sweat it
@paveyourpath I paid but it isn’t allowing me to sign ds for the interview. Do you have to complete your application to receive a link to sign up for an interview?
@SonOfAbraham If you have spare time, can you please give me your thoughts on this thank you
You have a very competitive application, especially as someone from Pakistan. Get the ACT score up a bit if you can and work hard on the essays (maybe talk about how you have a unique perspective on international politics coming from Pakistan).
I don’t think anyone has received any information about interviews yet. That’s supposed to come out in early September.
@what???!! Once you paid the application fee, there is nothing you need to do to sign up for the interview. In early September your DS will be contacted by the interviewer to schedule the data/time/place.
@paveyourpath Thank you!
