Just got a “we are reviewing your application” email.
Exciting!

@Joe2015 Same! This is all becoming too real!

I just received the same email. 20 days to go!

I got it on Thursday! Now I’m just paranoid that I forgot to send or submit something… Fingers crossed, and good luck to you all!!

20 days people!!! Good luck to everyone!!!

I live in Korea now, you would love it! Hopefully we both make it through to SFS. @seoulbound

Thanks @muricabound I’ve traveled there twice for study abroad. I may go back this winter hope so too!

unbelievable that it’s only 19 days, and probably less for some of you. how???

on another note - how are everyone’s other applications coming? i’ve got some safeties and higher reaches than georgetown still to submit to, and i wanted to submit them all by mid-december - which means that i have to write all the essays before I hear from Georgetown, aah??!?

I’m totally freaking over the early results. I know I won’t get in, but there’s that little bit of hope that keeps coming out.

@byebyebirdy hope is good, yo! it’s always possible. but still i feel like i have to assume i won’t get in because then i’ll be more prepared for a rejection. so i feel you about freaking out!

Hey! It would n

You know what’s weird? Some of us here might end up being classmates or even meet at the GAAP weekend at Georgetown! I am so excited for everybody! I am so scared yet excited for December 15th to come.

does anyone know if the acceptance letters come in a thick packet and the denial letters just come in a standard envelope or if they’re just both letters or what?

I can literally feel all of your anxiety through a computer screen and I’m not even applying this year :))
Good luck and best wishes to all of you, and don’t give up hope!

@dontdodrugs i’ve gathered that they’re both letters but the acceptance has a blue sheet of paper in it (some form you fill out if accepted - i don’t remember what exactly) that you can see through the envelope!

i got an email that i forgot to submit some of my materials the other day… i’m submitting them monday with my counselor (i guess she sent them wrong the last time). do you think i’ll still be considered for early action??

@kellz10 Sure, as long as they receive them before their deadline. Some universities/colleges have a deadline for applicants to submit all materials. I’m not sure when Georgetown’s deadline is, or if they even have one, but you could e-mail them and ask Hope this helped!

I feel like no one at my school understands how hard Georgetown - and SFS in particular - is to get into. Does anyone else have that problem?

I know!! There are at least 7 applicants from my school who think it’s easy. They have the mindset that because we’re IB students and international applicants we don’t need to be as competitive. Some universities do value the rigour of the IB system, but seriously speaking some of these kids are slackers. They understand that GU is a highly selective university, but they don’t believe that the selectivity applies to them.

Also IB but domestic! I feel you. IB does not help as much as I wish it would
