@Robinyoursoul
Are you a junior transfer?
@xXRedXx Nice! Best of luck to you on your pre-med studies.
And yeah. Basically, I got out of the military and started from scratch at community college. Should I have tried to shoot for a better institution when I got out? Probably. Going to community was a good start. Looking forward to being a representative of veteran’s that achieve acceptance into selective schools like GT…well, if I get in haha
You’ve had one heck of a journey Thank you for serving our country. I hope you make it to Georgetown!
Are subject tests required for transfers?
Yes and No. You all have to send all your SAT scores to them. So if you have took them, you must send them. But if you didn’t take them their not required. (I sent them my terrible SAT 2 scores from 2013)
@HopefullyIGetIn
What year did you graduate highschool?
@HopefullyIGetIn
Alright. Thanks man. I took the ACT and SAT. Do I have to send both then?
Got the e-mail interview this afternoon. Whoop!
Theirs no way they will know if you took both if you only send them one. that should answer your question.
2015
Did you get interview request only after you sent in full app?
@HopefullyIGetIn
I actually am missing the Dean’s Report. For some reason the school I go to did not notify me that I needed to come in to student services to wave my rights before they complete the report. I only found out after I went in and asked them why it hasn’t been touched
So the interview email came without the complete application
Scheduled for next Friday!
@Robinyoursoul I just the email for mine today. What are you planning to wear? I’m thinking shirt and tie.
@HopefullyIGetIn well, my interviewer mentioned that they will be coming to the interview from school. I’d like to believe that they will be dressed somewhat casual. I’ll probably wear a nice shirt, a good pair of denim jeans and dress boots. I don’t want to be over-dressed.
Question here: on February 5th I submitted the request for the Dean’s Report from the GT application. A week and a half goes by and my school hasn’t touched it and I go to the office to get some answers. They gave me some forms to fill out and I sent them in.
Last night I got an email saying that I needed to send the forms in to the dean’s office (lol)
Should I email the admissions office at Georgetown about my school giving me the run around and that the form might be late? I have all the email correspondence to back me up.
@Robinyoursoul I would contact Georgetowns office and tell them the issue. I would also try to contact somebody else in your high school to talk if possible. Seems the contact your talking to is unreliable. 3rd- I would be blunt and succinct with my high school. tell them the deadline is approaching and you need it done soon. Ask them, this is all the forms you need right??!! and ask them multiple times.
Also- I think I’m going to skip the tie and go with a nice shirt and khakis.
@HopefullyIGetIn good choice on going sans-tie. From what I’ve read, a lot of the interviews are pretty informal.
E-mailed GT’s admissions office detailing the situation as well as a time-line of events and correspondence.
Going to school tomorrow to get things completed under any circumstance.
Update on my dean’s report: everything taken care of after taking the right steps.
Side note: Also applied for acceptance to this summer’s Warrior-Scholar Program that’s held at Georgetown. Not necessarily related to transferring to Georgetown this fall, but apparently it’s a great program for us older vets and dealing with a more rigorous curriculum aside a community college one. Of course, by the time that the program is running, I will know whether or not I got accepted lol.
What are my chances?

I’m kind of worried about my recs… My professor rec will be kind of weak. I chose my Italian prof who I know the best but English isn’t her first language so I don’t really think it will be an eloquent letter. Also, not sure how strong my essays will be (I’m still editing) since the prompts are so vague and really hard to nail down.
All honesty, none of us can tell if you have a good chance. You’re a solid student. Just give it a shot. I’m sure you will be fine.
