Hi! Another international student here.
I applied for SFS’ STIA program, but I haven’t heard back yet :(. Are there any STIA majors out here with decisions?

@anaratheunicorn Hi I applied to SFS for comparative and regional studies and I have not heard back. I dont think anyone heard backd from SFS (except one person here). Maybe decisions are sent out by colleges, i dont know, its really throwing me through a loop though. Best of luck!
I just called and the lady on the phone said decisions will come out on June 1st… are we under the impression that they will come out earlier?
@urmom666 They have to say that.
@parog6 you can call UVA and let them know you are waiting for a decision from another school, i believe they’ll grant you a bit more time.
I went to the info session in Feb. They said if you sent them an email with your acceptance letter from another school they’d try to give you your decision earlier
@igottatransfer I’m debating whether to do that. I got accepted into W&M and they have a deadline of May 15. I am not sure if it’ll negatively impact their decision, I.e. not reading it as thoroughly.
No decisions today?
@simonlee7 I guess not
anything?
Ah the familiar feeling of disappointment
since today is may 1st haven’t they heard back from all freshmen already so they know enrollment size? i dont quite understand why they are releasing in waves
@yayauzi8 maybe for some majors/schools they knew they needed to fill vacancies and how many seats they needed to fill, but for others they had to wait to see their admissions yield? just a theory, but it could possibly explain why decisions are released in waves
^^ It seems almost cruel. There is the possibility of a month of anticipation before some of us will hear back (which is especially brutal if we are rejected). It just seems like a bad system and it seems like many colleges and universities have either already gotten back to potential transfer students before the May 1st deadline or are getting back to them this week.
@larbear I don’t hear back from George Washington until early June/late May too.
@dcstorm97 that’s interesting! are those decisions rolling as well? good luck with both universities ¨̮
@dcstorm97 Looks like this is gonna be a long summer for us haha. I’m waitlisted UVA which means I won’t get a decision until the first week of June, Northeastern isn’t releasing until Late May/Early June, and I also applied GW - so late may/early june as well
So are we thinking today? Possibly?
Please be econ today. And please let me get a yes.
I hope some are coming out today! You have all been so nice and seem so deserving of this that I sincerely hope we all get in :((
