Recs/Essays
Recs: All pretty great. Guidance counselor, mock trial advisor/AP gov teacher, and Latin teacher/LHS advisor

Essays: I'm a strong writer. I'm planning to either write about my experience as the sole female wrestler in school history and the challenges I've faced relating to sexism, grueling practices, etc; or about how my passion for international relations (I've taken 3 languages in school) and fighting experience is in tandem with my CIA/FBI aspirations

Other
- Strong knowledge in some computer languages

At first glance all of my ECs are unrelated but the language study / wrestling / jiu jitsu is all preparation for my career goal of working overseas in the FBI / CIA.

/Shameless bump.

FYI my sat math is absurdly low because my proctor screwed up the time for one of the sections, leaving me with about 3 pages omitted. Definitely planning on raising that by 100 points in October.

bump???

Tufts: Reach
Villanova: Match/High match
BU: Match
BC: High match
Bucknell: reach
Rutgers SAS: Safety
GWU: Match/High match
NYU: High match

Thanks Catria.
Why the reach for Bucknell?

You might want to name out the Ivys you intend to apply to, as some are even harder to get into than others, as a factor of university size or whatnot. I am not totally familiar with all your choices, but here are my thoughts. See if you can swing your SATs into the 2200s…hard to do, but it will talk for you in higher university applications.

Georgetown–Reach…could be low reach material with a higher SAT score, and even better chances if you deal with their Early programs.

GW: Match (but not too familiar with it)
NYU: Match
Rutgers: Low match/safety
Tufts: Low reach, its possible
BU: Low Match
BC: High match
Ivies: Reach

That’s the best I can give you. Sucks about that proctor…Good luck second time through.

Chance back?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1550070-looking-some-helpful-input-chance-me.html

Bucknell is definitely reachable but it seems that most admits have higher math scores than that proctor-caused 530… let’s hope that you will have a competent proctor next time.

Thanks TypeRA. I was going to apply to Princeton and Harvard. I wouldn’t bother under normal circumstances, except that I know a person with similar stats who miraculously got in. So I figured, why not?

Oh okay, thanks again Catria.

/shameless bump

Bumpeth~~~~*

Bumppppppppppp

If I where you I would leave out the ivy schools because those are very hard to get into even with a perfect sat score and sadly you do not have that or even close. If you raised your sat score to something close to a 2400 or a 2400 then you would have a much better chance getting into an ivy school.

Thanks Swimmer… I’m still going to apply. As previously stated, I know people with average stats who did get in over people with perfect scores and the like, which leads me to believe that they weigh other aspects of the application more than others.

bumpppppppppp

Princeton: HIGH reach
Harvard: HIGH reach
Cornell (just for fun): high reach
Georgetown: mid reach
Tufts: mid reach
BC: low reach
NYU: low reach
Bucknell: low reach
GW: high match / low reach
BU: high match
Villanova: high match

Good luck!

Thanks thebeatlestoday!
