Georgetown Interview - What to expect

Hi all,
For those that have already had an interview with a Georgetown alumni, could you tell me what generally to expect of the interview. What questions were you asked?

Um, I haven't posted here in a while but maybe I can shed some light on this. I had an interview with a Georgetown Alum last year and was admitted to SFS as a transfer student (but did not end up attending). To be quite honest, it was just like any other college admission interviews I had, but since I already had a year or so of college in background, she asked me more about what my career goals were, my intentions in choosing the major that I chose, and how SFS/Georgetown would help me achieve these. If it's anything like mine, it will be pretty casual and laid back so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I would have some questions for the interviewer handy, it demonstrates your interest in learning more about the school. (i think)

What was the dress code like?

Oh where did nspeds go...

Hey guys, I just had my Georgetown transfer interview last night. I met my interviewer at a Starbucks so I dressed nice casual... nice dark jeans heels and a nice shirt. So I would say for a guy probably khakis and a polo shirt? Anyway it was really laid back and I enjoyed it alot, we talked for an hour which is much longer than any other college admission interviews I've ever had. She asked me about why I was transferring, activities I was involved in (both high school and college) and my future goals. At the end she said I'd be a great fit for Georgetown, so I hope the admissions committee agrees with her! :)

Does Georgetown do interviews for most of their transfers or is it rare?

how were yall contacted for interviews... also did you get confirmation of reception of your app?

I received a slip via snail mail.

Spoke with admissions today. Interviews can not be accomodated for all transfers, ergo not having one will not affect your chances of admission.

I didn't get the receipt of my application, but I got the slip.

Can someone who has been contacted by an interviewer from their area tell me how long it took for that particular interviewer to reply (after you sent them your first response). MY interviewer sent me an e-mail and I replied 3 days ago and still haven't heard anything from her yet.

NVM; she replied today.

are you guys applying as sophomore or junior transfers? what are your gpas? just trying to get a feel for the general strenght of the applicant pool. Good luck.

not everyone will get a mail for the interview.. I called Georgetown and they said it's optional because they don't have time to review. So half of transfer candidates will get a snail mail for the interview and half won't. Because not everyone can be interviewed, they are using this moment as for transfer students to know more about georgetown with georgetown alumni... and won't hinder your decision even if you are NOT interviewed.
Well.. this is what I heard from georgetown admission representative..
I'm also a transfer candidate so I cannot not guarantee that this is understandable for everyone...

By the way, I declined for the interview.... and that doesn't mean that I'm making it up... doubtful? then call georgetown admission..

I can verify the validity of cider's statement. Admissions said the same thing when I spoke with them.

I also called and they told me the same thing that cider and canyonbrad heard. I am just wondering if this is true and theyre not just saying that to trick us or something. Who knows.

pinkdillo, are you a freshman or sophomore?

freshman 10 chars

They wouldn't try to trick us. Promise.

My interviewer attends the Darden Business School at University of Virginia. Should I wear a business-casual for my interview?
