Anyone else get contacted for an interview?

I did! I have mine on Wednesday - so nervous!

Good Luck! I'm calling my guy tomorrow to set it up!

I was never contacted about an interview for Georgetown. Am i supposed to wait while they contact me, or am i supposed to seak out the interview?? I interviewed for Regular Decision as a freshman applicant last year and it went well, and if it would help my case i would like to interview this year. What should i do??

They sent me a letter with a postcard with the interview thing. I suppose they would send one to you too. I'd call them and see what's up. I didn't even know I was supposed to do an interview.

Well, should I ?
I reckon everyone's quite busy with schoolwork right now. I really have no time for that.

Does getting an interview reflect one's chances of being accepted to Georgetown? Or is it simply the availability of interviewers?

GARR, check the old Georgetown thread from last spring, I think receiving an interview is a semi-good sign, however, it is important to take into consideration that the alumni connections in your area might be swamped or exhausted from freshman interviews, or availability might be limited.

Furthermore, from what I remember, the later you submitted your application, the later you might receive an interview request.

If you can attend the interview, do so, the interviewer composes a recommendation letter on your behalf, based upon your discussion. It's also a great way to receive a different type of perspective from a former student.

Don't be nervous and bring a resume! Good luck everyone! :)

GARRR, I do not think you have anything to worry about. Interviews are entirely random and reflect no sign on whether or not you will be receiving admission.

Just to note, I didn't start this thread because I wanted to brag about the interview thing. I was just really surprised to find one in the mail. I was just wondering if they did that with anyone.

Did you call them? What did they say?

i'm hoping i didn't get one because i'm in ithaca, ny...aka middle of nowhere :/

I called my guy today, but it went straight to voicemail/answering machine. I'm guessing it's at his work. I'm gonna call again during the day tomorrow, and I'll give him a couple of days. If not, I'll call the alumni coordinator guy.

Did you get the email of the guy? I would try that, because I emailed my interviewer and got a response almost right away.

unfortunately, I did not get the email of the guy. I did get the information of the local chairmen, so I'll email him if I don't hear back soon (tomorrow). I called after work hours because I thought I was calling the guy at home. It sounded like I was calling his work number though. We'll see.

My guy has yet to call me back. I called again today. I'll probably call everyday. If I don't get a response, I'll probably call the regional guy. Hopefully all goes well.

Yuk.. there's an envelope on my desk from Georgetown University. It will be unopened lol

What? There's no way that decisions have already been made.

It's probably about your interview. You should open it!

haha... I definitely feel left out here. I haven't heard anything from Georgetown yet.

Yeah, it's got to be an invitation to my interview, because I haven't even requested my college transcript yet.
Though I really shouldn't do an interview...

Don't worry, you'll get one soon.
