Am I screwed? Just found out today another student from my small (class size 100) school also applied. We have the exact same extracurriculars and, though we are both top of the class, his scores and GPA are slightly higher than mine. I think I had better, more tailored essays, but am I done for? Has Georgetown ever accept multiple students from the same high school?
@NYcollege2022 Sometimes they accept 5 in the same year from my school
@Ashtash ahh nice. thanks, good to know
@NYcollege2022 if you have Naviance or something, it may help to look at that. It varies from school to school. Some send a bunch if they feed like my friend’s
Georgetown just posted on this Twitter telling students to share this acceptance reactions this week??? So have they already been mailed???
Here’s what it said:
“Remember what it felt like to open one of Georgetown’s acceptance letters? Deidra (SFS’21) certainly does. If you’re accepted to the Georgetown class of 2022, share your story this week using #Hoyas2022.”
It’s the Georgetown University twitter account!
I saw that too! I can’t tell if they’re referning to EA applicants, but why would they say this week?
They usually tweet when they mail them. They did for EA and previous years as well
Just came home and found out a phone message from Georgetown admission office asking my D apply their scholarship, we were SO excited thought it’s a good sign that she is in ! We listened message again then found out it’s actually from Georgetown college Kentucky!
I logically think this means they were mailed. I would expect letters starting this week - seriously and objectively
Admitted students weekend is this weekend…maybe that’s why they said that. I think I saw letters are usually the sent when that starts or something so maybe they’ll be shipped on thurs or fri…it’s possible they shipped early, but I doubt it
The tweet specifically says to share your story this week. I don’t think that means they are shipping them Thurs. or Fri. like we were speculating it to be Friday. To me that means to expect the letter this week. Which then to me means they mailed them today or yesterday.
If they didn’t carefully word their tweet, and if they come next week - that is poor p.r.
@Winky1 I hope you’re right but if not, it was indeed poorly worded…
I mean this was the EA tweet…it was very clear and was posted around 4:15 that day. Hopefully they’ll tweet a similar message later tonight or tomorrow…
“Signed, sealed, and (soon-to-be) delivered - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions mailed Early Action decision letters for the Class of 2022 today! Hoya Saxa! #Hoyas2022”
Yes, that is crystal clear! @ashtash. But the one that went out today did go out within the hour. Same typical time of day. When I read the tweet from today, I read it to mean that they are coming this week. Let’s hope I’m right!
Any other thoughts?
@Winky1 I definitely hope it is this week! I’ve seen you on some other threads! Best of luck to your daughter:)
The only other possibility I just thought of is that since it’s EA Admitted Student Weekend, it means that those who have already been accepted should tweet their story. But that is impossible isn’t it? They opened their letters 3 months ago!!
Thank you so much, @ashtash. I think I’ve seen you on 2 others! Maybe you will meet my daughter some day at college, lol.
@NYcollege2022 they already accepted two girls early action from my class of 81, they would def accept more than one from a class of 100 then
