Hi everybody! I just found out today that I have been accepted as a transfer to Georgetown... I am thrilled, but as confused as ever! I am currently a student at the University of Michigan; while I like the school, I could really see myself at Georgetown. I am a premed English major so that is going to play a HUGE part in my decision. Can anyone out there give me any info. about the transfer process (once you've been accepted)? I'd also like to hear some info. about premed at Georgetown.

The transfer process is great. Georgetown has an orientation program designed specifically for transfers, and you are placed in groups comprising transfer students. Various sessions are also arranged specifically for transfers; during my first week, there was a fellowship meeting only for transfer students where we discussed the possibility of competing for a Rhodes or Marshall Fellowship.

Also, the transfer sophomore dean is outstanding! If you have any problem, he is always there to sort it out.

I just got a message via snail mail today. It was in the "tiny envelope," so I assumed the worst... but it looks like fate was on my side today :)

Did you hear anything from georgetown before hand? get an interview? or was it totally a surprise. Also if you could post some stats that would be great. I presume you applied to the College.

The letter came to my home address-- I didn't have any indication before hand and no interview. I'm guessing that if my letter just came, everyone else's must be on their way! Good luck everybody :)

I too have been accepted to Georgetown as a transfer and am premed The deadline is coming up and I’m still not sure what to do.

I visited Georgetown and met an advisor specifically for transfer students who was great! I really feel as if Georgetown goes out of its way to help transfers. At the same time, I’ve been doing some research about orgo at Georgetown and it is not looking so good.

I was also accepted into Duke and orgo just seems a lot better there in general which, at the moment, is causing me to lean away from Georgetown. Please let me know if you hear anything about premed or transferring to Georgetown!
