Georgetown Transfer Questions

when will we find out if we get in or not

They send out decisions as they are made so anytime between now and June 1st is possible. Its just a waiting game now.

they don't waitlist transfer students right?

They dont send out the decisions in mid-may, MAYBE end of may, and everyone will get their reject/accept in JUNE...I doubt they send them out earlier...YES THEY DO WAITLIST TDOLSON88, but the chances arent so great b/c like more than 50% end up going.

Well they just updated their website, and said that everyone will hear by June 1st. Maybe they're sending em' out now or very soon.

Actually, they did not UPDATE their website, its been like that for a month now and thats for FRESHMEN, which is MAY 1st NOT JUNE1st... so...They just started to review b/c freshmen submitted their decision to enroll or not.

This is directly taken from the Gtown website:
"All transfer applicants will be notified of their admissions decision by June 1, 2007."

If all transfer applicants will hear by June 1, some decisions will be sent out soon. Probably within the next three weeks most of us will hear.

yeh, THATS A GIVEN, IM TALKING ABOUT THE ONE WITH THE RED HEADING, check it out on the admission site.

NSPEDS, where r u????????????????? I REALLY NEED TO ASK U A question

When I visited over my spring break, end of march, during the info session I posed the question basically being like "your notification date does not match up with a lot of my 'I will attend ______ university or not' deadlines" and aside from her being like well if thats the case call us we can maybe do something for you, she also implied that most people would have heard before and perhaps a good bit before the June 1 date

I was not referring to the red lettering, I was referring to the change under the transfer application page. <a href="http://www.georgetown.edu/undergrad/admissions/applytransfer.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.georgetown.edu/undergrad/admissions/applytransfer.html</a></p>

OH ok mattsf, I thought u meant the MAIN RED ONE...No problem man, yup, they did update it. Have u called the school to see if they received all ur credentials? I CANT WAIT TO GET OUR RESPOND BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO STRESSED OUT RIGHT NOW.

I'm supposed to call a woman either tomorrow or Friday to find out a tentative decision from GU. Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous I want to pee my pants....but I won't....but I want to......

I emaild some lady of whom the Georgetown admissions office gave me the email, but she never got back to me. I have to accept UMD by May 11th, so I hope I hear something. Honestly, my hope is waining at this point. Other than the CSS Profile thing, I haven't heard anything from GU. They cashed my check so I know they got my application, but so far I'm just biting my nails; or what's left of them.

smile, what school are u applying to?

I hope she gets back to Matt. The worst thing is the waiting...esp. with no "signs."

YT - SFS, you?

COOL..me...MSB...GOOD LUCK TO U!

what other schools are u applying to?

Georgetown (#1 Choice), George Washington (accepted), American University, Johns Hopkins and University of Illionois at Urbana-Champagne (didn't get in because I was missing one prereq). UIUC was just on my list because as a veteran it would have been 100% free tuition and it's got a good repuation for being a friendly school.

What about you?

Smile - good luck! I would encourage you to call the lady, they are really nice up there. It was nice knowing about my decision, anyway. The worst part for me was when I called today to ask why I was "unlikely to be offered admission" and the lady I talked to said "honestly, I have no idea.. your application is very competitive." Ugggg :(
