Georgetown Transfer Questions

Thanks nina..you're the best..:)..

I am in a dilemma. Now I have to consider "reapply thing" seriously, because I heard transferring twice isn't look good and can be disadvantages over me if I want to go to top law school.....
but I really want to go to GTown!!!!....sigh...
It's driving me crazy..:(

I've visited UVA and it has a very nice campus but yeah, it is located in a small town. weather wise, yeah Emory is probably warmer but they also have a lot more hurricanes. What's wrong with in-state students?

are you still in Korea? Otherwise you could visit both campuses. It will definitiv help...

yeah..I am still in Korea..I can't visit US now..I should prepare for final-term exam..:(...some of my friends told me lots of in-state students...diversity matter...

Hmm...transferring twice doesn't look good when I apply to law school??..
Do I have to give up reapply thing?....
It makes me sick..:(..headache..:(...

UVA is a hard school.. they don't give out As to that many people// go to emory if you are tinking of law school

Aquamarine-- what is the deadline for UVa to let them know you will attend? I thought transfered had to accept by a certain date- I think that date has gone by. Please spend some time on each school's website to learn what would be best for you.

Also since you are an international student I don' think it would look bad that you have transferred a few times. Since you have done your freshmen year at a school outside of the States.

Braird..I already sent a deposit to UVA, but I got admitted to Emory after I sent a deposit.

So, I am in a dilemma now between Emory and UVA...:(

If I try to reapply next year, I should maintain excellent grades.
but I heard about the horrible grade deflation at UVA..
(I heard from some of my friends...they go to UC Berkeley and Michigan..
They said it is not easy to get excellent grades at the top public school.)

but for me...I like UVA curriculum..much more than Emory..sigh..:(

sorry, I can't help you decide between them but I just want to say that I think the deposit is a very small amount of money compared to choosing the right school for you. If you really like Emory better then don't let the deposit stop you.

Accepted in CA! The letter came on friday, my mom just handed it to me all, "oh too bad it's a small envelope." I don't know if I'll go. I'm still waiting on penn but they recently sent me an e-mail that makes me think I'll be accepted. I'm planning on visiting both and then deciding. Good luck to those still waiting.

Congratulations Addy189, what is CA. THE COLLEGE??? What were ur stats?

ha no. CA=California the state. Accepted to the college for sophomore year. Didn't apply before, 4.0 from UCB, sent in a midyear report, 2250 SAT, ECs were mainly community service oriented, and I think I had pretty good essays.

oh, so ....U DID get accepted to GEORGETOWN-COLLEGE right??? Thats good stats right there, Good luck to u!

why r u posting California state college on a GTOWN THREAD?????? Did u get into gtown or not?

ok dude I live in CA. I was trying to say that I received the letter in California. Are you serious about your last post?

I agree.. a deposit is a small price to pay. If you think Emory is better for then foget about UVa. You are talking about 1 to 3 years of your life.

Dude, come on...u did'nt know how to say ur statement right...RIGHT??? U should have said it better. So...u got into GTOWN, what college did u get into....SFS, MSB, or college??? No worries about the confusion! Nice job getting into GU, good luck with ur college options.

Ok did anyone else think that "Accepted in CA" meant accepted to some state school? I used the word in not at. Sorry for the confusion but c'mon.
And I already stated which program I was accepted to.

Congrats addy! You should join our Facebook group - I'm planning on visiting next week, I haven't been to the campus since last year.

And btw this above mentioned conversation just hurt my head a little lol.. ;)

All who were accepted are encouraged to join the facebook group entitled "Georgetown transfer students." :)

Yes join the group and converse and we should have a meet up during NSO

Thanks Tanya and YTA4. So to everyone who was accepted, what other schools are you considering?
