Georgetown Transfer Questions

You are from UCB? and COngratulations with acceptance to Gtown.

I am actually from BCityCollege right next to UCB. I havent heard anything from Gtown yet but your stats are GREAT and you are from UCB. That means a lot. My stats are lower than yours though but i was just thinking may be I havent heard from them because I am in CA. Apparently, that is not the reason. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I am really starting to think that i am rejected:-(

Well, as i mentioned earlier I just emailed the admissions officer to ask about my status but I havent heard from him yet. I applied to SFS and my stats are pretty long. Sorry.

I am really nervous now ...

Does anyone know if it is possible to APPEAL in case you are rejected from Georgetown?

Thank you all!!!

Anybody else notice that the Admissions web page has changed? No more notice about Decisions being mailed.

you can find out over the phone.

I got accepted to MSB

Congrats cider! I take it you haven't received a letter yet? Are you on the west coast?

CIder0401, did u reveive ur official letter of acceptance yet????

Got into MSB today. Letter dated last Friday. I believe my stats are posted somewhere in the front somewhere. Event of note: they didn't receive my college transcript until May 20th or so.

Talked to GU said most likely not an accept...Because of my High School Grades...Now I have to choose between GWU and UMD College Park, going to be a tough choice for me.

Sorry AF. who did you talk to? I'm surprised you were able to reach an adcom over the phone.

I am sorry AF..did you apply to GU as a sophomore?

Sure did.....

I spoke with an adcom today....

Rejected at MSB...

Junior Transfer...
3.91 GPA at UMass through 45 credits
Poor H.S. stats (probably the reason): 3.4 GPA, 1180 SAT
Was never asked for an interview (if that means anything)...

I'm dissapointed because I feel I proved myself on the college level, but I am hearing GU still gives heavy weight to HS stats/SATs regardless of your college stats and how many credits you've completed. Oh well, Congrats to everyone who accepted, and best of luck elsewhere to those who didnt...

I have called them twice and both times they told me that they will not let me know their decision over the phone and to wait untill June 1st. I also emailed them and they told me to wait till June 1st.

I am so dissapointed. How do you guys find out over the phone???
Thanks

^^ Look at it this way: June 1st is less than 2 days away.

In my case, I told them I had another deposit due June 1st, and I was worried I would not get the letter before then (true). The woman on the phone gave me an adcom's email address, I explained the situation in an email and she replied about 5 minutes later with the bad news...

I'm sorry Professor... :( Man, I wanted to show you the stairs lol.

I just called this afternoon and they wouldn't give me any info either. They said the last batch of letters had been sent out yesterday and that I should receive my decision by mail by June 1 - if not, then wait until Monday the 4th to call in. I for one will be calling June 1 if I don't get my letter in my 3:00 postman time! So, some people have apparently been rejected but have they recieved letters? And have the newly accepted people recieved letters? I naturally want to assume that this last batch was rejections, but maybe there are some acceptances? Either way I'm not hopeful... I just would like some closure!

can anyone post the link to last year's acceptance thread? i cant seem to find it.

Did any of the transfer applicants have an interview?

I thought we are not supposed to have interviews.
