Hey, everyone…I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted has received any information from Georgetown–financial aid or transferring of credits, for example?

I don’t think we get our credit evaluation until after we send in our final transcript with our second semester grades. I think I’m going to call admissions later this week because if they don’t take all of my credits I’ll probably have to do one of the summer sessions

^I don’t think that is correct. This is what is said in the acceptance letter: “Your Dean’s Office is working diligently to review the transfer credit of all accepted students, and will provide you with a written evaluation as soon as possible. We understand that this is essential information as you make your decision.”

I guess we’ll have to wait. Thankfully, Georgetown gives us until June 15th to make a decision unlike other schools…

One other question–has anyone who has been accepted already decide to definitely attend?

Another sleepless night… god I love the stress!

You’re not alone :)

I’m here also!

I’ve been told Georgetown has been in contact with my uni regarding transfer credit, so yeah you definitely get a transfer credit evaluation soon.

Has anyone gotten anything FA related?

@rinata I was emailed with an offer of a financial aid packet- but I haven’t heard a decision yet! I’m wondering if it is because my last name is the beginning of the alphabet or because I wasn’t offered very much?

I’m going to call the financial aid office/admissions about this tomorrow probably and ask how they are getting back to people about aid

Any news on Financial Aid notification method/dates? The person I spoke to said that they would probably be out toward the end of the month, but I forgot to ask if they were sent via mail or email.

I’m applying to MSB but emailed one of the counsellors who said that there are 490 applicants for 20 places. Assuming they accept 35, it means that there is an acceptance rate of 7% which doesn’t look good but fingers crossed. Well done to everyone who got in by the way…

anybody know what gtown’s financial aid is like? i’ve heard mixed reviews… :/

I’ve heard they meet 100% of need from everyone I read about, so that’s pretty amazing…

@esthetique I’ve heard the same. My family’s on board with whatever comes our way but it would certainly be awesome if they offered some sort of grant. We shall seeee.

@HopestobeaHoya Not to be weird but I essentially stalked the thread you started last year haha! It was SO helpful. So you’re in this time though- CONGRATS!

Is anyone going on a tour? Just so happens I’ll be in DC the 15th so I’m going to sneak in and take a look before the graduation festivities begin. We should start an official GTown transfer facebook page and get together after move in! Once the acceptees make final decisions, that is :)

^hahahaa alyssa921714, no problem! I’m happy to hear that I was able to help. My last final is on the 15th actually, and I live right outside of DC, so I can really go to Georgetown whenever. I’m very familiar with the campus but would still like to check it out once before I make my final decision.

The only school I wonder consider turning Georgetown down for would be Penn. Nevertheless, a part of me hopes I get rejected (…which is VERY likely…why my hs GPA was as low it is I’m not sure, lol) because Georgetown is so convenient due to its close proximity to my home. Also, I’m really attracted to the lack of Greek life at Georgetown. At William & Mary, I considered joining a fraternity and went to a one of their open house events…I absolutely hated it. No offense to anyone who might be involved in a fraternity or sorority, but I feel that the entire system is innately shallow, egotistical, and superficial. Yeah…not exactly my thing.

Oh well…come Thursday, I shall know my fate. :-)

@Hopes Ahh stop it I applied to Penn too! (Not holding much stock in my chances there either.) I know the feeling-- I’ve only been to GTown once, but the atmosphere is so amazing that I won’t be bothered at all if I get a rejection from other schools now. In fact, I’m not sure what I’ll do if I get into Penn at this point. Also, touche to the Greek life aspect. It’s really cool that Georgetown students are clearly capable of making awesome friendships (and partying within reason) independently-- definitely more my style :)

Gotta say, it’s impressive how Penn does their decisions. Precisely organized, no wasting paper, no BS.

so have your friends thrown you that gatsby party yet alyssa? :)

hey guys i just had an idea, well…not really cuz it was kinda from the nyu thread haha. anyway, in the nyu thread, there was a round of rejections and almost all of them were juniors. so what if for gtown acceptances, notifications are something like this: waitlisted–>entering juniors–>entering sophomores–>everyone else(rejects). so far it seems pretty true for the waitlisted part. but it’s hard to tell for the juniors because i only know Hopestobeahoya and alyssa have gotten in. any other juniors here?

@esthetique I am a junior and got accepted into McDonough School of Business.

Let’s hope tomorrow brings some good news…

@esthetique that’s a really good observation, I didn’t think about it that way. Any of the accepted from last week sophomores?
