@alyssa921714
could you explain more specifically about “more information on your classes”?
I don’t think gtown begins to do sth about credit evaluation… it should be after you get accepted.

Is there a specific format to the midyear report provided by Georgetown? Or should our school have it?

@tansfer84
i don’t really think alyssa means midyear report…
i guess his/her school may have different credit evaluation system…so gtown may need some details about it.

@transfer84 I used the common application form even though they don’t use that- figured it’s generic and still gets all the necessary info across. Besides if you have high midterm grades it really can’t hurt even though they don’t require it.

@significant Well I took last semester off (did some research and volunteer stuff in Russia that I couldn’t pass up) and they wanted to know when I was aiming to graduate and some like technical details about the courses I took last summer- I guess I sort of have a weird looking transcript- summer study abroad, last semester off, this semester back, you get the jist. Who knows what it means.

Thanks guys! I feel like I’m overthinking all of this… I just really want to get in.

Good idea to send a resume!

I think I’ll do the same along with mid year reports this week.

Their application asks so little. After I submitted everything, I felt like it barely showed my experiences and background.

@Novastudent
since gtown’s application asks us just a little about our extracurricular activities, the reasonable explanation is that they may really concern about our academic background.

Hm…interesting point. I emailed them my resume a few weeks ago. I mean it won’t hurt me if I do. But hopefully they got it since they get so many emails :/. And yeah I think I’ll send in my midyear report too, just in case.

any additional support materials definitely won’t hurt us…but I guess committee may not take so much time on these additional stuff. I emailed admissions office last week regarding receipt of all materials… they still told me that they cannot confirm receipt of all materials. Even at the beginning of April, they probably are still working on preparing… it means that the process of review would be very efficient…

@significantlevel

The extracurriculars had a selection of hobbies/sports. There were 5 ‘activities’. but I’ve run medical camps across East Africa, headed amnesty intl in Zurich, taught K-8 grade, hosted health/education in the philippines, mexico, brazil. (I’m 26) I think these experiences would help my application… but I couldn’t put much in their application.

As for academics. 50% of their applicants are probably in the gpa range of 3.5-4.0 but they accept <20%, so they’ll have to distinguish.

I actually submitted my midyear report last month. When I called, they advised me that using the Midyear Report form for first year applicants would be acceptable.

For those of you who are interested in doing so, here’s the link: [First Year Application - Office of Undergraduate Admissions](<a href=“First Year Application | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | Georgetown University”>First Year Application | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | Georgetown University).

Good luck!!

@ anontransfer

Right. I didn’t see anything either…

Thanks for your reply!

So…while we wait, how would you guys react if you get accepted :P

My best friend wants to throw a Gatsby Party over the summer if I get accepted to GTown or any of the ivies- lots, and I mean LOTS of champagne will be involved haha. Anyone else have an acceptance celebration plan?

if I get accepted in gtown, I will:
give my parents a call…
give my girlfriend a call…
email some professors who supports a lot.

If accepted, I will unsubscribe from about two dozen threads on College Confidential and never look back ;)

Lol nice!
I think I’d just make some calls and scream to whoever’s on the other end lol. xP

If I get accepted, I will run a lap around my residence hall screaming with my arms in the air.

@GregFields Lol, that’s awesome. Maybe go up to some strangers, scream it, and run away. Who knows.

If I get accepted, I will likely cry tears of joy
