What is the phone number? The one I called (202-687-3600) is dead.
I had to call several times to get through to someone. If you hear the beep beep beep just hang up and call again. I was deferred. I sort of expected it, but am still a little sad and confused. My test scores were by far the weakest part of my application:
SAT: 1380 (1400 superscore)
Subject tests: 690 English, 690 Us history, and 730 Spanish.
I was, however, in the top 10 of my class and have a great resume. I have an art business (where people commission me to do portraits. I’ve sold over 200 drawings), spent the summer in Spain and interned there at their city hall, have been in all of my school’s plays and musicals, and I’m on student council. I’m also the president of several charity organizations. I thought my essays were good too.
Now I’m just curious to know why the deferred me… I wish I could know if it was my test scores or something else.
Good luck to everyone else though!
@raymatta hi! I live in Broward too! I haven’t found out yet. What were your stats?
D was deferred…received the letter Saturday…it was a rough weekend. Still holding out hope for RD though! Congratulations to everyone accepted and Good Luck to everyone in RD!!!
Aww deferred. 33 ACT, 3.95 gpa unweighted, 770 math 2, 730 spanish, 700 USH - lot’s of leadership but most of them based in my school community. Essays were good but nothing fantastic.
hey! haven’t recieved my decision yet but I just wanted to send some good vibes out there! You are all amazing and qualified applicants and no matter what happens or has already happened, remember that you all are ENOUGH! I know it’s easy to get caught up in stats and decisions, but I think we’ve all done some incredible things over our highschool careers! Thank you for creating this little community where we can share ideas and information just wanted to put that out there
@Nomorelurker I actually haven’t heard of it but will definitely check it out! Thanks!
To everyone who also got deferred, are you guys sending a letter of continued interest via the email update thing or delivering it in person? Also, how did you guys figure out the contact info for your admissions rep? I can’t find it anywhere, I only have the contact info for my interviewer lol.

@iwanttogetintocollege
I was put on the line for a split second and they put me on hold. Then they connected me with some lady who asked for my first and last name and date of birth. She said she was connecting me with an admissions officer. I waited for a minute and an admissions officer asked me if she was speaking to the correct person. She told me who she was and said that before she told me my admissions decision she needed me to verify my address. I verified it and she said, “we’ve decided to admit you into the class of 2022. Do you have any questions?” I was really excited and appreciative. I said that if I did, I couldn’t remember them and then we ended the call. I proceeded to sprint around my school. Nobody here has ever gotten into Georgetown. That’s the process though.
I received a 1540 on the SAT. I didn’t take the ACT. I have a 3.98 unweighted and a 4.45 weighted. I am on the board of a 501c3 organization. I’m the president of Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society. I’ve been interested in business since I was 11 and I wrote an essay about that. I carried a job all last year and I still have one this year. I took mostly AP classes and I’ve gotten fours and fives on all of my exams. Calc BC, APUSH, Lang, and Bio last year. World the year before. Human Geo the year before and I got fives on Calc, Lang, and Geo. This year I’m in Lit, Psych, Physics, Gov, and Econ. That’s all my APs. I don’t know what else really you can ask if you wanna know something but I don’t remember any other notable details.
Oh and I’m a national merit semifinalist almost forgot.
@Rubix1 thanks for the informative link! Was there anything in particular I was supposed to see on it? I don’t see any info about admissions officers but I may just be missing it lol
@raymatta Congrats on being admitted! If you don’t mind sharing, what school did you get into within Georgetown and also what are your SAT Subject Test scores?
Deferred! Honestly just relieved to know a decision. The anxiety was killing me. RD here I come!
