D rejected with 2260 4.3 W/3.9 UW tons APs and ECs. Yet another from same school with lower stats in…that’s why it’s called the “Admission game”! Congrats to all accepted!
I don’t want to detract from acceptances though. Congratulations to everyone who has been admitted!
Seems there is a bit of a pattern here, so I hope for the best for you all!
My S was waitlisted after being deferred ea!

I just don’t get it! Gtown was one of his top choices! He has been admitted to Notre Dame ,Northwestern,UVA(oos) UNC CH(oos) and a couple other great schools! I do not see us paying to commit to another school and waiting to hear from Gtown… It would have been an awesome fit for him! Congrats to all that got in!
Hi! Did the letter say how many people out of how many were accepted by any chance? (____ out of ____?)
16% acceptance rate, 1,580 out of 19,500 from the letter @sofia10106
@sofia10106 the math doesn’t make sense, but that’s what the letter says haha
Has anyone from NJ been accepted yet?
I wonder how much Gtown pays attention to subject tests?
Yeah, Wow!Notre Dame, Northwestern…why Gtown? I think It is not necessary!
@kitty1 toured it and loved the campus and vibe! 2 hr car ride as opposed to a plane ride!
It wasn’t 1580 accepted that’s the amount of seats they have for Freshmen. Because not everyone gets in, they would have accepted I’d say at least 3000 people.
Regarding this: *This is really interesting. There seems to be quite a few higher scoring, and pretty qualified candidates being rejected.
I hope this doesn’t come off wrong, but do you think Georgetown is a school that rejects overly-qualified candidates because they see them suited for other schools to increase retention rate of acceptances? Their score range is below that 2250-2400 range that many applicants who have been rejected and/or waitlisted are in… *
I can confirm that Georgetown does NOT do this. Dean Deacon has always been clear about this: strategic calculations regarding what other schools students may be considering do not play a role in admissions decisions (unless it has some objective detrimental effect, like an applicant totally phoning in the Georgetown-specific essays).
The reality is, and has been for awhile, that there are far more highly qualified applicants to Georgetown than there are slots for admissions.
Ugh. No post on Sundays.
Has anyone received a letter who lives in California? More specifically, Southern CA?
Hi I have a question. If you are accepted into the Class of 2019 GAAP Page, does that mean you were accepted to the college? Or do the admins just accept everyone at first and kick those rejected out later?
deferred ea then waitlisted…
accepted to notre dame, ucberkeley (OOS), ucla (OOS), uva (OOS), bc, tulane, richmond, and fordham.
disappointing! gtown was pretty much my first choice.
@ariana4 I live in Ventura County and I haven’t gotten anything yet. I heard they might actually call us because our letters might not get here before Wednesday. It took longer than a week for my Notre Dame letter to get to me.
@gap1234, sorry for WL. But you still have hope. which state are you in? You have a lot of good choices already.
@JoeGoe Thank you! Hopefully they call us sooner rather than later.
And congrats to all of you who have been accepted so far!
Given it doesn’t use common app, I doubt Georgetown practices yield protection. Only seriously interested students would apply to Georgetown.
