WAITLISTED X( . I had a high hope, my SAT score was 2160, Three SAT Subject Score of 800, 3.96GPA, 14 AP Class. 200 hrs community work, leadership etc… Good knows what went wrong in selection process; whole process is black hole…
All the best to everyone who was accepted. I will be going to Schreyer Honors College.
Accepted! The moment I saw the $0.69 stamp I can’t even describe that feeling…considering this is a school i didn’t even consider until the very last week
Son accepted in MA to Georgetown College after EA Deferral. Very surprised to be accepted given the deferral. Accepted early to ND, UVA, and BC. Accepted RD to Duke. Still waiting on a couple of Ivies. Congrats to all who have been accepted. Difficult choices ahead. Feeling very blessed!
The postage on my letter was 0.48 so I would’ve thought I had gotten rejected had it not been for that big packet stuffed in my mailbox that also said Georgetown. I am insanely happy to be able to say that I was accepted!!! All of you on this thread are remarkable and impressive individuals. I have no idea how they turned some of you down but if I had my own university, you’d all get huge merit awards
Just for reference: 2170 SAT, 3.97 uw gpa, SAT subject tests 800 Spanish and I cant remember the literature and math 1 but it was embarrassing something like 690 and 680 I’m urm so I think that helped a bit but I think this really speaks to Georgetown’s holistic admissions.
accepted to: Georgetown :D, Duke, Notre Dame, UMiami and a bunch of other safeties
Waitlisted: UChicago, Vanderbilt, Berkeley
Accepted! 2370 SAT, 4.3/4.12 GPA, SAT Subject Tests: USH 770, Math II 800. I am pretty surprised I was accepted with 2 subject tests and applying RD. Does anyone know when FA awards will be coming out?
Rejected with the distinction of receiving not one but two rejection letters both identical. Not particularly upset as I have already made another choice. I think all schools should release decisions on the same day. By the time some come in you’re just tired and want to move on. Still have some out there which at this point won’t make a difference regardless of how high on the list they originally were
Anyone know if Georgetown is conservative/ far on the right wing? My mom really wants me to apply because its close and has stellar programs that I fit but I’m a very progressive person. Will this affect my social life? My perfromance in class? Also I’m black if that changes anything…
I know this isn’t exactly the right thread but I figured y’all know quite a bit about Georgetown!
@0br0123 Georgetown is very open-minded politically. While its roots are religious even the Jesuit philosophy is one of open questioning and debate. Furthermore it is in D.C. which provides a great opportunity for political diversity and participation - at least that’s what I’ve gathered from friends who attend, visiting, and my personal research.
Got hit with the rejection after an EA deferral today.
Pretty upset in all honesty, Georgetown’s been a school I’ve wanted to go to for a little over a year now and finally being rejected… well, it sucks. I got accepted into Tufts today though, so depending on how Ivy day goes tomorrow (can’t possibly imagine it’ll go well), it seems like Tufts is going to be where I end up (depending on money, of course).
