<p>Georgetown does not use the writing section of the SAT to determine admission and thus yes, that section is ignored.</p>

<p>A decent score for what? Many other universities give it at least some consideration and what kind of score is needed to still be in the colleges’ 50% ranges varies among colleges and you should always try to get as high as you can. Georgetown is clear that the score is not considered, so for it there is no score you should try to get. Don’t try to outguess the situation by telling yourself that maybe if I get an 800, Georgetown will actually give it some consideration. That will not happen.</p>
