Georgetown University Transfer 2019

@Mcjester, I am transfering Econ sophmore, have not heard back either. Hope they release decisions by school/major. Would be great to know soon, this waiting process is not fun.

Accepted to the college! Anyone know if thereā€™s a groupme or facebook group set up? no idea how to connect with other transfers which is important in deciding if iā€™m going

@user0523 I agree. And has anyone that has been accepted received their financial aid package or transfer credit evaluation?

*************ATTN: I made a Facebook for the admitted students - Georgetown Transfers - fall 2019

It is called Georgetown Transfer Student - fall 2019

Can the people who got in specify their major, if they were a sophomore/junior transfer, stats etc so itā€™s helpful for us and future applicants

Was told I would get an early read email today - nothing yet and seeing that itā€™s almost 1600EST, I am not counting on anything today.

Accepted MSB - Finance

Unfortunate that people arenā€™t posting their stats to help future applicants, so I will try my best.

Emailed me on 5-9-19 at around 5 PM PST

Stats:
~4.3 GPA HS
4.0 GPA California Community College
1520 SAT
Decent ECs: Small biz, work exp, some volunteer work
Above average essays detailing why I want Gtown and what I can do for Gtown

Additional info:
-Didnā€™t expect to get into MSB / Gtown in general because coming from a community college. Plus, I had to submit my subject test scores and they were awful. Guess subject tests donā€™t matter that much for transfers? Hope this helps.

  • I applied with junior standing but I am pretty sure they will put me as a sophomore as Gtown is strict about accepting credits

I will say that this application process for transfers is a lottery. My advice is to apply to as many schools as you can apply to without sacrificing the strengths of your essays. Essays seem to be a driving factor for these schools.

Accepted NHS - Global Health (sophomore)

Emailed on 5-3-19 at about 5 PM CST

Stats:
4.1 GPA HS
4.0 GPA College
35 ACT
Good ECs: volunteer work at hospitals, work experience, leadership positions, couple of clubs
*applied EA as a freshman to Georgetown and made it all the way to the extended waitlist

Hope this helps :)- again, was not expecting to get in

Waitlisted for SFS!

@poliscidreamer can you share the link? for some reason I canā€™t find the group

I emailed the committee chair for an early read a few days ago and was denied today. Applied to the College for CS. Really bummed out but I guess UVA it is. The little bit of hope in the email was: ā€œAt best, a wait list spot may be on offerā€

I requested an early read and was told by my committee chair to email her again at the end of this week. She then emailed me today and said to call someone next week. Does a call imply the decison will be a rejection or waitlist?

ACCEPTED TO SFS - international politics

I posted my stats in BC transfer 2019 thread. I am graduating from my CC in May. Good luck to you all.

have any science majors gotten in?

@poliscidreamer i canā€™t find the group

I meant @polyscidreamer ; could you post the FB link?

I stopped using Facebook 2 years ago. In this chaotic world, you donā€™t know what will happen when people know too much about your personal life.
