I am currently a Junior in High school and I have decided to do 6 dual enrollment classes at Gwinnett Tech college for my senior year and then I will apply as a freshmen to GSU or KSU. How do I know if my credits from there will transfer to California?
So you plan to go to apply as a Freshman applicant to GSU or KSU, attend there for 2 years and then try to transfer to UCI? Why not apply directly to UCI unless costs are an issue?
- You would need to work with UCI to see if all the credits you take at either of these OOS schools are UC transferable.
- OOS transfers are the lowest priority when it comes to UC transfers
- OOS costs for the UC’s is around $65K/year with no financial aid.
OOS tuition is triple the cost in CA…and everywhere else, and the rent in CA is cost prohibitive for college students. The big question, are your parents willing to shell out that kind of money to go to CA? The bigger question is…WHY? This sounds like a well thought-out and elaborate BAD idea.
Yes, I plan to do it. But how do I find out what will transfer and what will not… I plan to spend 2 years in Georgia and then 2-3 in Irvine. I also plan on getting my MBA at the business school there.
Yes I know it’s really expensive that’s why I want to transfer there. Not apply as a freshmen. I also am considering getting my MBA there. I am actually fortunate that my parents support me and are wealthy enough to send me there. But I also want to save them money. So I am currently deciding if I want to transfer there as a Junior or wait to transfer there to get my MBA for my Business Marketing Degree.
You are better off getting your Bachelor’s degree from GSU and saving the money for your MBA. You do realize that most MBA programs want 3-5 years of work experience before applying and many like UCI cost around $51,000/year for an out of state student. Add $102,000 to the cost of 2 years Undergrad at UCI at around $65K/year, you are looking at a very expensive education.
