Georgia Tech Transfer Difficulty

I am currently a student at Georgia State University and would like to transfer to Georgia Tech as an Aerospace Engineering Major. I will be applying for the Spring semester (which I heard is less competitive). I am curious about my chances of admission because I have heard extremely conflicting advice on the internet. I have seen that Georgia Tech says themselves that you are almost guaranteed admission if you meet the requirements but I also see people discussing on hear that they aren't so sure they'll get in with a 3.9-4.0. So how competitive is it really?
Could I get in with my stats?
GPA: 3.74 hopefully a 3.8 when I plan to transfer and a math/science GPA:3.69
Credits: 34 when applying with another 16 being taken and 11 AP total: entering in with 61
I will have taken all of the required classes listed on the GT website including all of the recommended courses.
Calc 1,2,3 Diff EQ, Linear Alg Physics 1,2 Chem 1,2
I'd appreciate any advice or help.
Thanks

Spring semester is not less competitive FYI. They have fewer applicants, but they also have fewer spaces to fill. Acceptance rate ends up being the same. I’m applied for this upcoming fall. I hope I get in.

What LDC said above is indeed true.

To be honest, I don’t think anybody on this forum or even the admission counselors can answer the question “Could I get in with my stats?”. If you meet the requirements, then submit the application and wait. That’s it.

The best “guaranteed” path is going through RETP at a RETP institution or TAG (if not engineering) at GPC. Otherwise, it is not guaranteed at all.

Ah I didn’t know that about the Spring. I have just heard that so many times I just assumed it to be true. Though now that I think about it I guess that wouldn’t really make any sense.

And daivinhtran1993, I by no means wanted a guarantee just someone to give me some realistic expectations. Like I said in the original post I am confused about the amount of competitiveness that transfer applicant experience because I hear lots of conflicting perspectives. I obviously don’t have a 4.0 or 3.9 which is what many of the people on here who want to transfer say they have. I can’t major in Engineering at my current college so I’d like to know if it’s realistic for someone with my stats to get in or wether I shouldn’t place my hopes in it.

@screenname12021, if you have all the required courses for your major complete, A’s in those classes, and above ~3.67 overall, I would say you are a well qualified applicant. That’s about all I can say. Ultimately our decisions are going to come down to how we stack up relative to the rest of the applicants WITHIN YOUR MAJOR and how many spaces are open within that major. Transfer decisions are major specific

I heard from somebody who would know, although they are not in the admissions office, that as a Junior you have free transfer within the entire state university system of Georgia as long as you have a “B” average. I realize you don’t have the credit hours yet for that, but it might be something nice to know for the future.

Take a look at this webpage at GT:

Is Georgia State University the same as Georgia College and State University? If so, your odds look good… [Well, I just looked, and they are not the same. So this could be harder.]

I am also apply aerospace engineering for fall 2014.
I think you will be fine…
