My second semester is almost over for my senior year and I am sure i am gonna get a F or D for my AP Calculus class. I have already completed my a-g requirements and been accepted to uc riverside, but I will most likely get canceled if I get this grade, right? I had a C for this class in my first semester. I got an A for ap lit and ap gov in my first and second semester and I am taking the ap tests for biology, Calculus, literature, government, and Spanish in the next two weeks. So if I get a 3 or a 4 or a 5 on the Calculus ap test, do you think uc riverside would still decline me since they already accepted me in late march, especially since I passed this class in the first semester. (I also got into csusm, so I don’t know if they would still accept me too after this.) Pls let me know fast, I am so stressed out about this, thanks.
it depends on where you were admitted. Most colleges offer conditional admission - which means if you don’t meet the conditions they MAY rescind the admit offer.
You need to read the fine print in your admissions to see where you stand.
I’d add - recognizing many people are struggling with remote learning - many schools have added some temporary flexibility to their admit conditions. I would call your target schools and ask - they might give you some specific guidance for your situation.
Good luck
Thank you.
For most of the UC’s, their provisional admission contract states a 3.0 weighted GPA and no D’s or F’s for Senior year. That said, you should contact UCR and find out what options you have including passing the AP Calc exam which might mitigate the D/F in the class. I would do it now so you can figure out other options just in case they rescind your admission. Is there any way you can work with teacher for extra credit or tutoring to get the grade up to a C-?
Be proactive since the UC’s do not like surprises on transcripts.
I know this teacher wouldn’t let students do extra work, plus he has never given us extra credit assignments, so I don’t think so, but thanks for your help.
