Getting a job at a movie theater (and for the summer in general)

Is getting a job at a movie theater hard or something?

Anyways, in general, I'm thinking about getting 2 jobs this summer, if they're minimum wage, one job if its more than that.

I don't want to get a job during school (the spring); this is for the summer. So, when's the best time to apply? Should I start applying in April for instance, or does it matter like that? I figured it's smart to beat the job applications of other people who will start applying for summer jobs... but what do I know??

I never had a summer job before and never really had a formal job before for that matter.... mainly a lot of volunteer work and an informal, paid employment stint on my college campus.

I worked in a movie theater for one summer and it’s not terrible. It had its perks (I got to see any movie I wanted and could eat the popcorn for free). You are dealing with a lot of stupid people though. Teenagers who try to negotiate their way into an R-rated movie. People who show up 5 minutes before their movie starts and expect their snacks to be ready and waiting for them when they walk in the door. The people who moan and groan about how overpriced the snacks are as they’re paying, as if I have anything to do with it. All in all though, if you have a little patience it’s not the worst job you can get.
