So I've made a really nice mock schedule on Penn InTouch already and I have classes basically back to back in the morning and no classes after 1pm.

So Monday morning, I have Econ in Cohen, then Calculus in DRL (I finally get why everybody avoids it), then French in back at Williams. DRL is pretty far from like, every single other class I have. I heard that profs end their classes 10min early. Is that true? Would that be enough time to walk/bike from the middle of campus to DRL and back?

Also, where are the Critical Writing seminars held? The course registrar only said SEM TR...which is not a place it seems.

cohen to drl is easily doable in 5 minutes. even huntsman to drl is easily doable in 10 minutes with a normal walking speed.

the only times you’ll really have trouble getting to class on time is with biology classes, since they’re typically located in a remote area south of the quad. from there you can get to drl in 10 minutes with a brisk walking pace, although if the professor ends class two or three minutes late then you won’t make it unless you run really fast (had this happen fall last year, ended up just dropping the biology course. meh)

writing seminars are all over the place.

If you’re a slow walker, you might be pushing it. If you’re a brisk walker, you’ll be fine. I had some long freaking walks both semesters - Towne to Huntsman, Moore to Steiny-D, Moore to Huntsman. I was never late, save for the occasion when Max Mintz of CIS 160 fame let us out very late.

I had quite a few DRL (33rd) to Stiteler (37th) treks during my four years, and I never had a problem. Nobody even notices if you’re late to a large lecture, and I never met a professor who had a problem with someone showing up late because they were in another class… I had a few professors who were angry at the prior block’s professors for not respecting the 10-minute rule, but professors always respect when students stay for the full period since they wouldn’t want kids to walk out of their classes before the period is over.
