Hi everyone! I’m a 16 year old junior in the state of Tennessee. I’m from California, but I attend a public school in the Nashville area. I have a 33 ACT score, a 4.35 GPA weighted/4.0 unweighted with 8 AP classes. I plan on taking the SAT in May (already signed up) and also taking SAT subject tests. I’ve lead statewide political groups since freshman year and have been involved in every level of politics since 8th grade. Georgetown has been my dream school for years and I have my heart set on doing anything which might give me a better chance. What are my chances, do y’all think, and/or do you have any recommendations as to what further actions I should take? Thank you so much!
Don’t miss out on languages. If you are strong in languages
Will I be penalized for only taking standard Spanish?
D is a sophomore at Vandy in Nashville, but was admitted EA to Georgetown. She competed in a foreign service essay contest from which she was one of the top 10 essays. I think that helps with her admission along with similar political activities like yours. She later recycled her essay there for Georgetown essay.
Also have a unique aspect or angle you can bring to the school. D is also strong on Stem, so her angel is the intersection of political awareness and stem.
Best of luck! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the advice!
It’s great to hear about what gained admittance vs. what didn’t
