umm…have you tried ACT?

No i haven’t. Should I?

either retake the SATs or try the ACT. I know people who personally did much better on the ACTs, they found them either with the expection that there is a science part. What is your overall gpa with 9th grade? also for Hunter you should probably aim for at least 500s all around. Since most schools only look at reading and math you must improve your math score MUST. With those scores you will not get into Hunter maybe some of the other CUNYS but i cant promise that.

If you’re out of state you might get in for the higher tuition you’d be charged. Are you aware that Hunter has very little housing and it’s generally reserved for McCaulay students and nursing students? It’s very expensive to live in the city.

My D was accepted to Hunter with a 620 M, 660 V and 680 W but only a 2.81 GPA. She visited (we live in a suburb and she’d have commuted) and hated it. She’s at an upstate SUNY and loves it.

Depending on where you can live, you can look at Queensborough CC. I think you’d get in there. My oldest son attended for a year and I thought that the courses offered and the education he got was excellent. The neighborhood around it is residential and you can rent an apartment for much less than in Manhattan.

I would suggest Queens College, which has dorms but I don’t think you’ll get in there. You could apply to transfer if you did well at the CC.

my 9-12 GPA is 3.11
10-12 is 3.38
