Need some advice from CUNY Hunter students

I'm currently a freshman in Nassau Community College and applied to transfer to CUNY Hunter for the Fall 09 semester.

In the Fall 08 semester I had to take a remedial Math,English and Reading class. I also took a Learning Framework class which I got a full 3 credits for. I ended up with a 3.5 GPA for that semester. Over the Xmas break I did a minimester class for History 1301 and got a B. Now this semester I'm in History 1302, English 1301 and college level Algebra,as well as a weight training class.

Transfer candidates that only have 0-14 credits need to have atleast a 2.3 GPA and a decent high school background. As far as high school goes,I was a pretty straight C student and my SAT score, which I don't remember at the moment, was relatively low.

A counselor at my school said I should have a decent chance at getting in since I had a 3.5 last semester along with 6 credits earned, and they'll see that I'm in all college level classes now. So right now I'm just hoping I'll get in,but I really don't know what to expect. I'm preparing for the worst though.

Any current or past Hunter student have any feedback/thoughts? I'll appreciate any advice I can get at this point. Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, if you've got a good college background and a poor high school background, why not wait until you have 15 credits before transferring? You should hit that mark at the end of this semester.

Mainly because I really just don't want to be in the commity college that I'm in right now. I want to get out as soon as possible,so I decided to just give transfering early a shot.
