I am an out of state student and I am apply to UVa because it is my top choice. I am third in my class out of 200 boys and I have excellent extracurriculars displaying leadership, sports, and a huge emphasis on community service. I was wonder what my chances of acceptance are considering that I have a 1920 on my SAT's considering my holistic resume?

I think grades count a lot there and you have an excellent chance.

If you don’t mind me hijacking your thread, I am also applying RD, but I’m in-state. I have a hard courseload, but only a 3.5 UW, and 2140 SATs. weak ECs. i am also wondering what people think my chances are?

Here is the link to the Common Data Set. Section C7 states how different elements are weighted in admissions. SATs are less important than class rank and grades but still important. In-state matters more than SATs. Section C9 shows the SAT range for 25-75% to be 1830-2160. Section C11 shows 88% of enrolled students had a 3.75 or higher. Looks like you might both be reaches.

If you’re out of state, it is significantly harder to get in. You are definitely on the fence- it could go either way, and I do not have enough information (nor am I an admissions officer) to make that decision about you.

I have 3.75 W - at my school ap’s are weighted +1 but intensified classes aren’t. Does UVA do weighted?
