Getting mail while living on campus

so is there a big problem with stolen packages if you live in a dorm?

When UCLA receives a package for you, you will receive a note taped to your door. Bring that note with you, along with your BruinCard, to the dorm’s front desk, and pick up your package. I’ve lost nothing and have picked up 3 packages so far.

I’ve had about 10 packages sent to me and haven’t had an issue with stolen items. I never got notes on my door though. The housing services would just send an e-mail when I had a package to pick up.

As far as I know, the note on the door is mainly for the urgent or perishable goods, I think.

I’ve only gotten the email. I’ve never really had a problem with packages… but letters sometimes takes a delay. (Once had one stalled for a month. -_- )

letters also come in your personal mailbox (which means you won’t get an email reminding you to check it). you only get a notification when packages come, and i’ve never gotten anything lost (and i buy/sell stuff regularly online).
