Hey, so I live in the dorms, and I'm expecting a package via UPS. How does pickup work? Is it any different from USPS packages where I would go to my mailroom and pick it up there? Or do they come to my dorm and drop it off there?

Also, I think the USPS or mailroom lost some important mail of mine. What happens now?

Yes, the UPS since it is not in such financial turmoil as the USPS, will hand deliver your package to you, expecting you to sign and then tip as they leave.

With your USPS mail, you will have the liberty to file a claim and sue the USPS and UCLA housing, bankrupting them but giving you millions.

Seriously though, UPS will just drop off at the mail room.
Your mail is lost, gone forever, nothing you can do.

@dinoian: for USPS mail, did the sender give you any tracking info? If so, you can find out the date/time it was delivered and check with the mailroom to see who was working at that date/time, and ask if they’ve seen the mail? If the mail/package was insured, you can most certainly file a claim at usps.com

I don’t think it was insured or anything like that… But it probably should have been, considering its content.

What were the contents? Did you check your mailbox?

I buy TCGs from the internet and they send USPS registered and every time the guys at the mailroom just shove the parcel in my mailbox like ordinary mail instead of having me go down and sign for it.

It’s an envelope with my taxes, so it should be in my mailbox, was sent 2 weeks ago. The UPS is a large (50 lbs) package that there is no way will fit in my mailbox containing lots of trophies.

i just got notified for a package to pick up, which was stamped on nov 17 2009. i couldn’t believe it!

Just got the UPS package, and some of the trophies I ordered were broken… should have seen that coming… Now to communicate with customer service… But the ones that survived look amazing.
