Im applying to a bunch of summer programs and scholarships that require about 2-3 teacher recommendations each. I'm kinda hesitant on asking about 2 teachers writing numerous recs for me. I moved to my school this year and only know 4 teachers. How do these people who apply to over 15 programs get all these recommendations? Can you reuse them? It seems like a difficult problem to solve...

The teachers photocopy their recs.

Make sure you ask them to change "UPenn" to "National Merit" on their letters, or the scholarship programs might not think you're enthusiastic.

so you're saying to reuse the recs? What if the recs are this special form that with detailed questions that they have to fill out?

Hm...well, some recommendation forms say you can use a letter in place of the actual forms, but check to make sure.

How detailed are the questions? I'm sure they can handle one or two lines.

Just ask them. If they don't want to do 15 recommendations then they won't do them. The worst they can say is no.
