Getting the most out of my nyu college visit

I'm going to NYU next week, and I want to get the most out of my day there. It's a Friday, and I understand students don't have class...so I can't really do anything like that... What should I check out? Any questions I should be sure to ask? How about spots on campus that I should see? Thanks...! Also, I'll only have one day there... It'll be my first time to NYC but I really want to stick to nyu or around there since that's what I'm going for

Between what times will you be there?

Not all students are free Friday. The scheduling system here just favors the other four days so many students get a free Friday. Will you be able to get into the buildings? If you don’t have an NYU ID or escort you won’t.

I’d walk the perimeter of Washington Square, go a bit down W 4th and see Stern, go south on Mercer to see Coles and the buildings there, go back up to Washington Place, walk the length of it to see the various NYU buildings there, turn left on Broadway and see Gallatin and Tisch, walk up Broadway to 14th and see Union Square, then go east on 14th and see the NYU buildings there. There’s still more to NYU but that’ll give you the basic layout.

yeah, i’ve signed up for a campus visit/ info tour but i’m looking to do more than just walk the campus. any more suggestions?

Try out some of the local food.

I recommend Mamoun’s Falafel on MacDougal Street, right off Wash Square. SO, so good. Can’t wait to be an NYU student next year partially because I’ll be next to Mamoun’s… haha

Way to answer my question. Anyway, I’ll be visiting Stern this Friday (4/13) from 5:30PM to about 7, and can get you into Tisch. There’s a fairly big event during the day with panels and speakers if you want to go (last I heard they had a maybe from Hank Paulson to show up) - it’s open to the public IIRC. I won’t be attending since I have work but I’ll be dropping by for the IAG Battle of the Alums that night and can get you into that. IAG meetings are always a lot of fun, and they’re where I learned much of my equity valuation. If you can make it down this weekend instead of next (or this weekend and next), it’ll be well worthwhile.

No idea how much interest there is out there, but I can get at least two people in if there is any.
