Quick question: Does anyone know how to get to Dartmouth from Providence? If I take the train, how far is the station from Dartmouth? I checked Amtrak and they don't have a station in Hanover. Does anyone know of another station near Dartmouth? Thanks for the help!

Is driving from Providence to Hanover a car out of the question for some reason? I’ve made that drive. It takes a while, but it is certainly doable.

if public transport is your only option, take the train to Boston and catch the Dartmouth Coach at South Station.

Dumb question, but which train do I take to Boston? Never been! Oh and how long is the bus ride?

Thanks for the responses thus far!

The bus ride is between 2 and 3 hours, depending on traffic.

There’s an amtrak train that runs between providence and south station that, if you’re willing to go early or at unpopular times you can get as low as ~15 bucks. The coach will cost you 50 for a multiday round trip ticket or 35ish for a same day.

Thanks for the help everyone! I’m planning to surprise a friend with an (overdue) visit and was at a complete loss.

(I’m on Amtrak’s website now and I’m completely stunned at seeing $10 tickets to Boston; where I come from, I’m used to $75+!)
