Give me some hope

<p>Yes, a rather pathetic title. But either way, I know I've posted my stats elsewhere, but I wanted a Stanford applicants' perception. Thanks guys!</p>

<p>Personal:-
Male, US Citizen (living abroad in south asia)</p>

<p>Academics:-
SAT- CR 680, M 740, WR 730 (2150)
SAT II- math 2c 670, lit. 610, phy 690 (dunno what happened =S)
GCE O Levels- 8A's and 1 B
GCE AS Levels- 3A's and 1 B
GCE A Level predicts- 5 A's
School transcript a little weird, but our school has a bad grading policy that we're trying to change</p>

<p>Academic honors won-
1) the national award for academic excellence in GCE O'Levels
2) my school's outstanding achievement award all throughout high school
3) Higherst scorer from my class at one particular subject in junior year.
4) Class Valedictorian
5) Senior year prefect</p>

<p>EC's:-
1) Debate:-
-Member of the National Team for the World Schools Debating Championships (debating World Cup, if you will) 2008 and 2009
-Highest ranked debater in the country
-National inter-school/inter-university champion.
- Founder, President and coach of my school's debate club</p>

<p>2) Personal Research:-
- Conducted a personal research about one aspect of society in the third world (the title's too much of a giveaway)
- Published it in a local journal.
- had to research a lot, working at several different organizations (including one Nobel Prize winning institution), and had to travel a lot to villages and remote suburbs.</p>

<p>3) journalism:-
- columnist for a national weekly (where I published my research)</p>

<p>4) Soccer:-
- Played on the school's soccer team, and represented school at the national level.</p>

<p>Work:-
- Web developer for a US based company</p>

<p>Teacher Recs:- one awesome, didn't see the other one.
Essays:-
-intellectual vitality essay about intrinsic human characters that do not always manifest (using my observations of the general elections in this country as the core of the essay)
-roommate essay about how I take loooong showers, only because it helps me think.
-Why stanford was pretty strong.</p>

<p>@ScaredAsHell:- yeah, I was ranked “top debater” by the Debate Society in the country where I live, and I’m the only one who didn’t have to try out to make it to the 2009 National Team…</p>

<p>Normally, I would write a huge essay on your strengths and weaknesses. </p>

<p>But consider this: You’re already a senior and you’ve already done your best and submitted your app. There’s not much you can do now. What’s been done has been done. </p>

<p>That said, your profile is quite impressive, especially the fact that you’ve taken a British patterned education (A/O levels). Those, from what I’ve heard, are harder than AP classes here in the States. I could be wrong though. </p>

<p>Anyways, one more month to go. We’re all in the same boat, uneverknow. As your user name says, you never know what will happen.</p>
