I don't want to get my hopes up (partly because I think maybe this is happening to a lot of other people as well) but I just got an email from UCSD (Jacobs School of Engineering to be precise) saying that they are glad I applied because I am a "top applicant." The email includes more information about their school and other programs and opportunities.

I'm not trying to sound cocky, but does that mean I have a high probability that I got in? Well, I would understand if they sent this email to everyone else, but if it's just some people, does it mean something?

Sorry to worry others that may not have received one though! D:

Yeah, I remember getting this last year as well. I called the admissions office, and they kind of implied that I was in even though it wasn’t technically official.

Hey I got this same email a few days ago, applied for computer engineering. I was also wondering if it was somewhat of a “likely” letter, that would be pretty awesome if it is. To the above poster, I know you weren’t asking me but if it’s any help my [weighted] UC GPA was approx 4.3 (I think that’s just from 10-11 grade lol, I got a B in one AP class first semester of junior year though), 2130 SAT… I’m hoping I get in =o

I’m also wondering if this was one of those letters that everyone got though
